Hands down, the WORST experience you can have with a company - and they didn't even do any work on my house! Read on for the full story. I reached out to Athens Roofing and Siding as I needed some siding repair. I spoke with ""Will"", the owner. He was polite enough but very to the point. He said he would have someone come to my house for an evaluation. We set the appointment and the contractor came by and everything seemed fine...at first.

When I was speaking with the contractor, I asked about painting for the siding. The contractor said that the ""company"" (Athens Roofing and Siding) does not handle the painting part, that his estimate would just be for the siding repair (i.e. Hardy Plank, caulk, etc.) So, we looked at the few places along my chimney and near the garage which needed repair and he left. I get a call from ""Will"", the Owner, two days later with a quote for the work. I asked him about whether or not the quote would include the painting and I shared what the contractor had discussed with me. Will then informed me that, no, they are a full service contracting company and that the contractor was incorrect in what he shared. So, I asked for him to give me a quote with and without painting. A couple more days go by and I get a call from Will who says that he is going to have another contractor come by my house for another review and estimate. I said ""that's fine.""

The next day I get a call from ""James Blackwell"" who said that he is calling on behalf of Will from Athens Roofing and Siding and we set an appointment for him to come to my house that Friday (July 26th). I went to my house, I waited, and no one showed up. I get back to the office and a few hours later, I get a call from Will. I let him know that no one showed up at my house, no call - nothing - and that I was NOT pleased. He said that this contractor is new to him and that he had gone missing for the past couple of days. I said that I hope everything is okay. Will said that he does not really do the work these days anymore, and that he predominantly handles billing and such. He said that this is not how he does business and that he apologized. Will then said that he would have someone come to my house tomorrow (Saturday) and/or that HE would come by HIMSELF! Of course, I then proceeded to wait at my house all day on Saturday and, guess what? No one came by, again.

At this point, I had made up my mind that I would not be doing business with Athens Roofing and Siding. However, a few days later (the following Thursday), I get a call on my cell from a contractor named ""Cesar Chavez"", who said that he was at my house and was waiting on me! I called him back and informed him that I have no idea as to why he would be at my house, that we did not have an appointment, and I was trying to figure out what was going on. He said that Will asked him to come by and look at the siding. I let him know that I was unaware of any of this and that there would be no way for me to come over right away as I was at the office. He said that he does a lot of work in the Athens area and that he could come back. So, against my better judgement, I went ahead and set aside time for him to come back when we could meet together and have him look at the job to be done. (I still need to get the siding repaired, sadly!) We scheduled for the following Monday (today), I got his full name and his phone number and here I am typing this review because I am well beyond done. I have waited/wasted yet another hour as no one has showed, once again. I called the contractor's number and could not reach anyone. I called Athens Roofing and Siding just to share my frustration, but that is basically a wasted effort at this point as well. So, 3 different instances of hour wasted, time away from work, and not even so much as an apology or explanation. I am simply writing this out in the hopes that it might help others in the future. Be afraid!

I shouldn't have bothered asking for a quote after the initial call was answered ""hello""... Interesting that their web site recommends selecting a contractor with a physical address - 110 International Drive in Athens is an apartment complex.... Also, the business name Athens Roofing & Siding is not registered with the Georgia Secretary of State Corporations Division.
