Founded in September 1966, ASI Building Products was created by William S. Ellis, Jr.. We stand as one of the oldest and most prominent distributors of specialty building products in the Southeast.

W.S. (Bill) Ellis served as Product Manager at the Aluminum Company of America (Alcoa) for nearly two decades. While managing Alcoa's Residential Building Products Division, he helped design many products that continue to be marketed by Alcoa today.

In 1978, Mike Patierno assumed the position of President and CEO of ASI Building Products; our second branch was launched in Orlando. The 1980s saw the opening of five more branches.

Mr. Michael Patierno is the Owner and CEO of ASI. Mike began his journey with ASI in 1970. He started in the warehouse and progressed through the ranks to ultimately become the leader of ASI.

Mike is a hands-on owner. He is passionate about building products and genuinely cares about the success of the industry as a whole.
