My roofing journey started between 1977 and 1984 at my father's roofing firm. In 1984, I relocated to El Paso, TX, where I managed EDS Roofing from 1984 to 1987. I was responsible for roofing approximately 800 residential and commercial properties each year. In 1988, I launched J&K Roofing and Remodeling, operating as a general contractor in El Paso until 1999. I undertook diverse tasks, from roofing and remodeling to constructing KFCs, Taco Bells, and Pizza Huts across the country. In 1999, I made the move to Austin, TX, where I worked for the Round Rock Independent School District. I managed roofing and exterior projects for all 48 schools. Between 2004 and 2006, I held the position of project manager at Roofcrafters. In 2006, I founded Artisan Exteriors and continue to lead the company in the Austin area.

We desperately needed a roof replacement from the hail storms this past spring and was recommended Artisan by a neighbor. We had reached out to 4 other companies prior to reaching out to Randy and Jeremy, none of which got back to us for weeks with a quote. Tandy & Jeremy came out, got a quote back to us within a few days, and started work as soon as the materials came in. It did end up taking them more than a single day for the work, but the team was great, worked hard, and did an excellent job cleaning up after the fact. Artisan also reached out to our insurance company to clarify a few things, and was incredibly patient as we also worked through some delays with them. Overall, the roof looks beautiful & solid, and we are already planning to have them come back to the house for more projects. They've done several roofs on our block and one looks better than the next. We're so happy we went with them!

Randy of Artisan, the owner, is personable when selling a job...but Randy's skilled people are NOT on-staff as he assured us (he hires various sub-contractors) and we doubt he has done the amount of interior work he claimed.
We pledged $5,300.00 to convert 6 x 6 feet of our attached garage into an inside closet...no air/heat needed...ALL interior finishes to be the same as used in our new home in Sun City. Randy also assured us a licensed Electrician would add electrical wiring including a double switch like the ones used by our Home Builder, Pulte.
Randy's floor person did not float the tile...there is a obvious tilted slant...nor did the floor person caulk the tile at wall level. (My husband had to do it instead.) Randy's painters ""no showed"" repeatedly so I had to call him to find someone else to send.
We have held $850.00 of the $5,300.00 which we will pay Randy as soon as he completes the installations he committed to do.
It has been 2 months and a commonly installed door (like Pulte's builder grade) still has not been installed ALTHOUGH we do have his waste materials waiting for him in our garage which I repeatedly asked him to pick up.
Today Randy told me by text that he would not absorb the cost for the Electrician to return to install the correct outlet like the rest of our home. I replied that since we have waited on him 2 months anyway, not to come here until my husband is here. I do not want to be alone with Randy.

I just had this company do a lot of work at my home. They replaced my countertops and painted my cabinets, and living room and replaced my roof due to hail damage. Price was fair, jobs were completed in a timely manner, workers were very polite. Very happy with the outcome. Love the look of the new kitchen. I would definitely recommend them to others.

I used Artisan when we needed a new roof. I can say I would certainly refer them to any friends or family. I have never had to get a new roof before as this is my first home I own, but the guys were extremely informative, easy going, and a hard working team . They got the job done fast and I have had NO issues since the work was done. The rates were very reasonable and after calling around to different company's I am glad I went with Artisan.

I hired this company to replace my roof after a hailstorm last year, and was thoroughly impressed. The owner and his son met with the insurance adjuster to help make sure all damaged areas were identified and replaced. From there the company was on top of everything from helping me choose shingle style and color to making me well aware of the insurance funding process. Very happy and would recommend them!

Put our roof in 6 years ago (a $15000 roof!) and told us it was a 50 year roof and now it leaks and he says ""you are not under warranty""!
NO THANKS!!! Terrible service. The run around!!!!

I was taking a walk in my neighborhood (Round Rock West) in late June with my wife and kids and noticed that one of the neighbors was having a garage sale. We stopped by and there was a very nice couple which we proceeded to chat with and through conversation found out that he worked for Artisan Exteriors and was supposedly the son of the owner. I asked for his business card as I always find it nice when I can find someone local (aka in my neighborhood) to help when I have a need for skilled trade.
About two weeks later I noticed that after the heavy rains that a branch had blown my chimney cap sideways and had taken a few bricks off of the top of the chimney as well. Called on a Saturday and left a message, and then about 10 minutes later I got a call back telling me that he could be out there later on this afternoon even though he had a busy schedule. I told him not to worry about coming out that day since I didn't view it as an emergency and to just give me a call back the following week to get out and take a look at it.
Well, 3 months later and at least 5 calls to him have gone un-returned. I also notice that they moved out of the house that they were in as I saw a bunch of boxes left outside of the garage shortly after our initial conversation and have since seen new residents.
I would have understood if they would have not been able to do it or at least not get to it right away, but to not have any of my phone calls returned shows a complete lack of customer service and business accumen, especially for someone who was really nice upon meeting and who I thought was a true neighbor. Another company that gives roofers a bad name...

Came out to give me a quote on a project. I was told I would get the estimate by the end of the day. 5 days and 4 text message reminders and empty promises later I have no estimate. Completely wasted my time.

How can I give zero stars or negative stars? Do not let Randy Clouse and Artisan Exteriors (Texas) on your property. Dishonest contractor. I had to file a complaint with the police against him. He detroyed my carpet, left greasy hand prints on the wall, reuined my dry wall, tried to charge me for things I had not requested. He left empty alcohol bottles in the building. Letting him in was the biggest mistake of my life. He cost me many thousands of dollars! Randy Clouse looked me in the eye, smiled and then ripped me off.

This company was hired thru my management company to come and fix a few holes in my walls from a water leak and a re-routing of the pipes. I scheduled a Saturday before Christmas for them to come out. They showed up late, sent a guy who had to bring his 8 year old daughter with him to translate. I was told by Jeremy that day the the holes were going to get fixed. The guy they sent said it wasn't going to get done that day with several different excuses. First it was because it was raining, I offered to move my car out of the garage so he could work and he refused that. Then he told me he was only working half a day and would have time to lay the plastic in the three different areas that needed to be done, then he told me he didn't have any drywall with him to fix it. I called Jeremy and he said that it was going to get fixed and he was going to all his guy and get back to me. That was at 10:37 am and I didn't hear back from Jeremy until the following Monday a little after 1 pm. He told me that they fired the guy they sent out that Saturday because he didn't fix my walls. We then scheduled for him to send someone else out on 1/1/14. I texted him yesterday to confirm that they were still coming, Jeremy called me and said he would call his main office and get back to me either via text or phone call and didn't hear anything. I waited until 12 to call him again today and he didn't answer. I have had it with this guy and his lies and bad service he has given me. I sure hope my management office doesn't use them anymore!
