We were in need of a re-roof, gutters, gutter guards and downspouts because our roof was leaking in multiple locations. We received a couple of quotes but were not comfortable in making a commitment with either company. We then discovered Armtrout roofing through our realtor's contact. The contact shared that he's trusted Joe for the past 30 years with his various properties.

I contacted Joe to schedule a visit for an estimate and he was on-site a couple days later and on time. He wore a mask and introduced himself. He then took out his ladder from his truck and suggested he have a look at the roof. I accompanied him to gain some insights. As he began to survey and take measurements of the roof, he began sharing advice and recommendations for the re-roof. In addition, he also indicated that after the project was completed, the shingles would all be aligned. I almost forgot to mention that he noticed the poor condition of the roof and suggested he could stop by before the rain began to take some precautions to prevent further water leakage (Joe's son showed up a few days later to seal any potential openings).

After completing the inspection, he shared some shingle samples and discussed the pros and cons of each. He also mentioned there was opportunity to improve the attic ventilation because it was insufficient. He then provided us with a home address around the corner that he completed recently that had a new roof, gutters and downspouts. We then discussed an estimate and he indicated that he would provide one within a few days. We received an email with all the details and breakdown for costs/materials. We felt that his prices were fair and comparable. Next, we went to check out his finished work and needless to say we were impressed!

After that we informed him that we wanted to move forward with the project. Once Joe finalized the weather details he confirmed the start date, within a few days he and his crew completed the project. After each day, they cleaned up and it was almost like they were never there.

They installed two Velux venting skylights and even made a recommendation as to where to get them! Armtrout roofing is a small team that delivers big with quality results, invaluable insights and excellent communication. Joe took his time to explain all the details, called and showed up when he said he would. I would definitely recommend Armtrout Custom roofing!

ABSOLUTE ROCKSTAR - My brand new roof is leaking and I don't want to deal with my original roofer. Called Armtrout - Joe returns my call within the hour and he's at my place the same day.
He does the fixes and won't even take any payment till he's assured the problem is taken care of. I thought people like Joe Armtrout don't exists in this world anymore.
I was bowled over my his good old style of integrity over money mindedness and I cannot say enough.
And ofcourse I'm paying him and will bug him for an invoice again after the next bout of rain.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - they don't make such ethical people anymore !!

I had used them before, it had been over a decade. They had come out at that time and Joe repaired some broken tiles for an unbelievably low price. It was around the time of the mortgage crisis and as a member of the real estate industry I really needed a break. Fast forward to the present and a similar issue. I had my niece call up some places for me and in the back of my mind had remembered Armtrout. One company wouldn't even come for repairs, another company was pushing to attack the problem from a completely unnecessary angle at an exorbitant price and calling it a ""small job"" not to mention waiting 1-2 weeks to come out while also even suggesting an entirely new roof. Where is the rolling eyes emoji the kids use?

I can't recommend his services enough. I'm very particular about who I have do any sort of work for me whether it's on my house, car, or any service really. After Joe assessed the issue he said he could make it happen the next day and I realize this isn't always going to be the case because he's busy. However, it went above and beyond what I expected and he was more than fair with me on price. He has bailed me out of difficult situations twice, and it is rare in these types of businesses where you can rely on someone to give you an absolutely honest opinion about a problem, fix what is needed and not push you into what you don't need.

Have been a customer since 2014 when my roof leaked and resulted in ceiling damage in the living room. It happened just before Christmas that year and I was in a panic; could not find anyone to come over. It was my landscape maintenance company, R & S of Pleasanton, who referred me to Armtrout's who he considered the best in town. I immediately called and spoke to Joe the owner, told him of my problem and he came right out. The problem was resolved and I have relied on Armtrouts ever since to do a roof check and cleaning of the valleys when deemed necessary. He and his crew came out today to make sure all is well with the roof before the next big storm hits this week. And it gives me peace of mind that my roof is secure. We were lucky enough that our property management company, AVR, uses this roofing company!!! The job was a very difficult one for various reasons and Joe, Josh and his amazing crew basically had to reinvent the wheel to make the roof safe and sturdy!! They did such an amazing job!! This company knows the meaning of customer service!!! They were so accommodating and answered all of our millions of questions. They r by far the cleanest and most courteous crew I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with!!! This is the best roofing company. A family owned business. I've no words to explain how much extra distance Mr.Joe goes for his customer. After keeping tab on the weather,scheduled and installed roof during thanks giving. Everything clean. After assistance amazing. My solar installation was made. Day before Christmas got over the roof to verify all solar installations are done correctly without any damage to the roof. I will just refer him to anyone who wants roof.
