We hired Armstrong Roofing after getting quotes from 3 different companies and taking the most affordable price of $18,400, probably not the best way to pick companies as we all know.

We were scheduled for 12/16/19 and due to some weather issues it was going to be moved to 1/7/2020 and we asked if it could be done earlier and were told they could start on 12/18/19 with a 5-7 day finish day. Rain was forecasted throughout this time however we were never discouraged from doing it and figured as professionals they knew what they were doing. The work started on 12/18/19 and went through 12/20/19, on 12/21/19 the workers were given the day off to Christmas shop despite forecasts of high winds and heavy rains over the night and following day. My husband contacted the company with this information asking if the workers had secured everything, they never came by and the owner was out of town. In the evening of 12/21/19 heavy winds arrived and blew several metal pieces off the roof, they did come the next day to secure things and cover the roof with ""water proof"" material. The roofers informed us to contact them with any sign of leaks (the old roof never had any leaks, there were no previous water leaks in my home at all). On 12/23 there were heavy rains and in the evening I noticed a large leak forming in the living room area. The roofers were contacted and came out to try to stop the leaks, when my husband returned home from work he helped them and we noticed a leak coming through the light in the bathroom and upon further inspection a leak started in three other bedrooms. Inspection of the attic found a lot of water leaking into the insulation and through the roof and garage. The roofers (workers) even informed my husband they had never seen leaks like this and that it turns out the material they had used (new to them) was ""water resistant"" not ""water proof"". The owner, Kenny, never once showed up or even contacted us with concern for these issues, my husband had to contact him several times for resolution.
We now had several water stains on our ceilings (a couple quite large) and an attic full of wet insulation. Kenny had a painter come and paint the ceilings and wanted his own person to inspect the attic. We informed him we would like to have our own person come out and check the attic to replace insulation in case of future mold or water damage, Kenny wanted his chosen person to complete the work. Throughout this process Kenny has not been concerned with any water damage caused by shoddy materials and/or lack of timely work, he has instead blamed weather conditions and asked us to file a claim on our homeowners insurance. We asked him for a couple of thousand off of the roof price to just get this done with and not have to deal with them anymore. They offered $500 off and said how they had to pay the painter and workers overtime due to this mess. They even put a lien on the house because we withheld payment until we could work something out. They eventually offered a total of $800 off and called us ""greedy"", this by the way doesn't include any insulation being changed or anything other than painting over the water spots. They sent us an invoice and then threatened to charge full price, plus lawyers' fees, etc. etc. if this was not paid in full within 2 days which it was (paid).
The days of good customer service, even from small, local businesses no longer exists, make sure if you use this company you do it in the summer as to avoid any problems with this unconcerned owner.
Total price paid by us: $17,590

I called and got a person not a machine. An employee came over the next day and gave me an estimate. Then followed up with an email estimate. I accepted and they came out the following day to get the work done. Thank you Armstrong Roofing.

I called for a free roofing estimate and later they changed there minds and wanted to charge me $75 for the drive, so I had to cancel. There website also states that they serve Bakersfield and Tehachapi areas. They put me in circles.
Not a good business to start with.
