Armadillo did a fantastic job diagnosing a slow leak we had and repaired it within the time frame they promised. Once the diagnosis and repair were in process and then complete, they were very responsive in answering questions we had, and they stayed within our budget. The repair has held through these great rains and we are very pleased!

We had an amazing experience with Armadillo Roofing and can't say enough positive things about them and Dave our sales person. They replaced or entire roof in time to put our house on the market.

I started looking for roofers here on Yelp. Picked a few and called for estimates. Some were pushy and others made me feel like a number. Dave was extremely personable and had a very comparable estimate. I would much rather go with the person who explains things and is relatable.

This spring was a little chiller than most and when the roofing team could get on our roof because of the temperature or because of icy rain, Dave contacted me so I knew what was going on.

We have a very large roof with many different pitches and they were mostly done in 2 days. Dave did come back to roll for nails the next day as we lost light.

I would use them again in a flash if I need a roofer.

I had a leak in ceiling of my vaulted living room that appeared to be dripping down from where the chimney meets the roof. A couple of serious rain-storms in a short period caused some damage to the ceiling and even the wall where the water had dripped down.

I called Armadillo and another roofer that also had good reviews on Yelp. When I called Armadillo, no one took the call on a Saturday morning, but I did leave a message with my phone number, address, and a description of the problem. The other roofing company had someone available to take my call on that Saturday morning, and said someone would get back to me Monday or Tuesday. Tuesday rolls around and that other company leaves a message saying they won't be available for 4+ weeks after all.

I was getting concerned that I wouldn't find a roofer before another deluge, as more rain was forecast. Then I noticed when I returned from work that same Tuesday or Wednesday, an estimate from Armadillo had been left on my front door. I didn't even realize they were coming out to look at it, since I hadn't heard back from them after leaving the message. That said, the estimate seemed very reasonable, so I tried to call and set a time to get the repairs done.

There were a couple of days where it was a bit hard to get ahold of Armadillo to set up an appointment for the roof repair and chimney flashing fix. When I was able to get the Armadillo contractor out a few days later on a Saturday, they did a great job, and didn't up the charge even though the damage to the roof was more extensive than their original estimate had accounted for.

All-in-all, I'm very happy with the work they did, and at a reasonable price. It's rained a few times and there's no evidence of further leaks. I knocked down the review one star because of the slight bumpiness in communication, but would definitely recommend Armadillo Roofing.

Amazing once again! Called Armadillo Roofing & Exteriors at the beginning of April 2014. We had three small leaks on our back patio roofing. David came out once again to inspect. Found that there was no leak..just some of our shingles flipped up and needed to be glued down with liquid nails. Didn't charge us. Nice man, great service, honest and dependable. Highly recommend these guys!!

Hands-down I'd highly recommend Armadillo Roofing. I noticed a spot on the celiing of the 2nd floor bathroom and after reading reviews here, I called. David called me back immediately and came to check things out.

Long story short a couple of our boots around the vents on the roof needed replaced. The shingles also needed replaced since the roof was original and had some damage, but we could get by w/ just replacing the boots if needed. David did a temporary fix to the boots, told us how to touch-up the ceiling w/ the spot, and said to think about the shingles. No charge for his services which is pretty unheard of.

We did end up getting the roof reshingled and went with a solar vent to replace the other vents we originally had. With David's advice our insurance even kicked in $$ after checking out the original roof. Armadillo did a great job of protecting the landscape and getting the job done in a day.

David's customer services was outstanding; he was prompt, courteous, gave suggestions, and tried to save us money where he could. He was my contact from start to finish and was on-site for the work. He even sent me pictures throughout the day (as I was traveling the day of the work). I have no hesitation that Armadillo is who I'd recommend to family and friends.

This is an updated review of the one below.

Owner Mark Franz of Armadillo called me immediately after my initial review. He was extremely apologetic for the lack of attention, communication and follow through of his field man (who left me waiting all day long).

Mark asked for a chance to make things right. He came out with his colleague, Doug, and gave a thorough review on my needed repairs. Due to shingles needing replacement, he actually provided a band-aid repair until I could get a new pack of shingles ordered and installed. The two spent an hour inspecting and fixing my roof. Mark brought down the defective shingle and educated me on how they are made and what went wrong. He also explained other things he noticed and even caulked/sealed exposed nails used during the original roof installation. No charge!


I will be receiving a bid on that final repair later. I'll need like three new shingles.

I am very pleased with Mark's (& Doug's) integrity and work ethic. I'm glad they actually care about their potential customers - especially in a culture where courteous & reliable customer service is no longer top priority, or non-existent. Mark truly loves his company and takes pride in a job well done. I hope other service providers follow suit - they could stand out from the masses and earn some loyal customers.

I called Armadillo bc of its glowing reviews. Unfortunately, I can't leave an adequate review. They never showed up.

I made an appointment to obtain a repair estimate on loose/missing roof shingles. The guy didn't show at the appointed time (10:30am). I called to see what was up at 11am. I was told the estimator would call. He did not. I called again at 12:30pm and left a message. Estimator guy called and said he had a sick child and forgot. Okay, I completely understand. But then he told that he would come after 4pm. He did not.

No one showed up or bothered to call to reschedule. Clearly, not the most respect for a potential customer's time.

About a month ago, I noticed a brown spot on the ceiling of our bedroom turned office/exercise room. It was one of my nightmares as a homeowner: a roof leak.

My husband made several calls to roofing companies in the area, with disappointing results. They either never returned his calls, or promised to follow up with us, but didn't. (Seems to be a theme in Austin: see my adventure to get our water heater replaced elsewhere.)

Finally, --though after a lot of work ---, we got someone to look at our roof. Our roof was declared the victim of hail damage, and we were told it needed to be replaced: The worker assured us that our house insurance would pay for it. Having lived in the house for five years, and knowing our house's exposure to the elements well as a result, our ""scam"" radar went on high. We quickly decided a second opinion was in order. That's where Armadillo Roofing & Exteriors comes into the story.

My husband scheduled the appointment: According to him, the representative was friendly and efficient. He scheduled David to come out and look at our roof at 9:00 a.m.: David, the representative assured us, was always on time.

Sure enough, when my husband was leaving the house at 8:45 the day of our appointment, he saw David sitting in his truck, and invited him inside. David took a look at the ceiling where we discovered the leak, and then headed up to the roof.

About thirty minutes later, David rang the doorbell. I went outside with him and he explained, in detail, the cause of the leak and how he had fixed it. Then he explained how I could fix the damage to the ceiling myself for low cost -- told me exactly what to buy, and how to do it. He said he had thoroughly checked the roof, and there was no hail damage: It was in good condition.

Here's the real kicker: He did all this for no charge. Even after I pressed him several times, David refused my offers to pay him. He said that he believed in customer service, and asked me to keep him in mind when we do actually need to get our roof replaced. I was completely blown away by his kindness. And yes, Armadillo will have our business in the future.

Heavy rain. Shearing winds. Leak.

Emailed Armadillo. They're crazy busy. Two weeks later.

David calls. They fixed the leak. No charge. Old world customer service. New world sensibilities. Amazing. Absolutely fucking amazing.

Any and all future roofing and exteriors needs go to Armadillo. Done.

Was originally told it'd be 2 weeks before they could even come to look at roof (This was during ALL the October rain). But David came out after 3 days and then came back the following weekend to fix it. He was efficient and knowledgeable and ended up saving us $100 by showing us how to do something on our own, rather than waste the money and have them do it. Overall, the price was not too bad either and they understand digital marketing as they have a nice website, social media presence, and request yelp reviews. I would use Armadillo again.

After the epic rains of October 2013 we noticed a brown spot in the living room ceiling indicating moisture in the attic and possibly a roof problem. I went and looked, but could spot no obvious problem. It was Sunday so I knew nothing was getting done that evening. I made 4 calls and left 4 messages. Armadillo called me when I could be worked in and was out that day. After a quick examination, he said there was nothing requiring a fix. The flashing around my chimney was overwhelmed by the shear volume of water that 12 inches of rain put forth. Water skipped the lip on the flashing and made it in. He asked if I had any outdoor caulking which I did. He ran back up and put a bead of it along that flashing to create a seal and popped back down. ""What do I owe you? Nothing. Just give me a review on Yelp."" Done and done.
