We recently used Ark Design Construction and Roofing, Inc., of Palo Cedro, to replace the roof on our main house, and guesthouse. We are very happy with the process, and outcome.
They are very busy so it took over three months to start the project after signing the contract. This was not a surprise. They told us up front they wouldn't be able to do the job for three to four months.
The contractors that did the work showed up on time. It was the same crew each day so there was no question of what to do. They cleaned up at the end of each day, and communicated well during the entire process. They took time to explain anything we had questions on, and told us about anything that we needed to know.
There were no surprises on the invoice when the job was complete. They were very thorough during the bid process to include any additional repairs that needed to be done. They went on the roof and really inspected it.
Another company walked around the house and provided the lowest bid. They didn't include any additional repairs in the quote. The quote included a statement they may find other items that need to be repaired at an additional cost. Knowing there were additional repairs and having no idea what they would charge doesn't work for us. 530-547-3890

We had and continue to have a roof leak caused by a prior licensed contractor (who left the area) built a patio roof. The leak is caused by the method of construction between the gutter and the interior causing rainwater to enter onto a finished floor. We had several handymen and a couple of roofers who would not or could not help us. A friend suggested Ark Design. It took a couple of weeks but we had the gutter specialist with Ark Design come over and suggested he could possibly help us, BUT, he would need the owner to come over and approve his ideas. When the owner finally arrived a week later, he spent his 30 minutes berating and insulting us for allowing the original contractor to do the work he did. He told us that he would only recommend a tear down. Maintaining my cool, I asked what he thought that would cost. Obviously caught not expecting my question he threw a figure of $20,000-$25,000 (for a 12'x12' roof removal!) Playing along I asked when he could start and, since he had no intention of doing the work he said he would give us the names of contractor who would. We never heard back from him. Its unclear to us why contractors like this feel that they can bully people with impunity. If I could give him 0 stars I would do that.

GREAT COMPANY!!! I had a house fire and needed to get temporary power to run my well, front gate and front lights. I called several companies and nobody was able to get out for at least a week. Joe came out the next day and I had a bid from him right away. The price was very reasonable so I agreed to have him do it. Less than a week later the job was done. I highly reccomend this company!!

Ark Design replaced my roof, replaced all my siding and added a deck off of my bedroom. Very courteous and timely. They also painted my house and the painter did a great job. Mr. Van Sweden went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend their work.

I just had my roof torn off and put back on by this company. I had called a few places to receive estimates and I chose ark roofing for a few reasons. The estimator they sent out was on time, curtiuose and knew exactly what we needed done. They weren't over priced either. The crew they sent were also on time and the quality of workmanship was what I would call over the top. When it comes to customer service ark roofing has by far reached and over achieved our expectations. If you are planning on roofing your house or business, definitely give this company a call. You will not be disappointed.. I think my neighbors are a bit jealous of us.. our roof is outstanding! Thank you Joe and the rest of your crew at ark! Extremely satisfied customers!!
