We saw a few detached shingles, and called Apex. They were out the next day, and did a complete evaluation of our roof. Turns out we had extensive hail damage from a recent storm!
Apex sent someone out to tarp the missing shingle area the next day.
They next came out at the same time as our insurance adjuster, to point out any issues, and make sure our claim adjuster saw everything they did.
Chris Montgomery at Apex then walked us through the entire process, from
Picking out new shingles, to how payments would work with insurance.
Supplies were then dropped off the following Monday, and the crew was here on time at 7:00 AM Tuesday. They were completely done the next day, and did a really great job cleaning up after (we have dogs, and we're very concerned about stray nails and such).
The next day, Chris came back out for a quality check, and even went back on the roof for a minor cleanup item!
These folks are fast, friendly, and very courteous!
Did not call to schedule services, just showed up. Didn't finish the job the first time so they just showed up again and started banging on my roof with no warning or schedule. Gave me the run around for 3 weeks regarding photos only to tell me they never took photos. Never once returned my phone calls. No apologies, no manners, no customer service, no organization, no communication. Absolute worst service I've ever experienced. Would NOT recommend. 0/5
Big D.There are lots of roofers in our area, many who get good if not great reviews. We vetted at least five before deciding to go with Apex. In addition to consistently positive reviews on yelp and Google, I was specifically impressed by Mason and Matthews attentive and courteous communications from the first time we met, in working with our insurer and the roof inspector, and until the job was finished. We dialogued primarily via text and it didn't matter what time of day or evening there was always a quick reply received. They were patient with our many questions as well as our indecision as to which color and manufacturer we wanted to go with. In addition to providing detailed information about the materials and installation process, they gave us numerous addresses of previous installs such that we could view the different color options available-those colors that we were considering for our roof. Importantly, we chose to have this project during what turned out to be a rainy few weeks. Post a few rescheduled dates, there was a window of one, maybe two days were there would be clear skies. Mason and Matt coordinated two crews to come out and finish the job in just one day! In addition to there getting the job done in just one day, their crews were conscientious relative to clean up as well. This was important to us as most often this was the complaint that we read relative to other companies. Not only did Matthew walk the roof and property the next day to ensure all was cleaned up, he took some cool drone pics too. See attached. In short, we highly recommend Apex.
Would not recommend. We received hail damage and initially Apex was great to work with and worked with our insurance company well. Once we signed the contract it went quickly down hill. Currently weeks out from the roof replacement being completed and we are still dealing with trying to get them to repair the damage they left behind. We have a hole in the roof as well as damaged siding & cornice.
Called for them to come out and give an estimate. The sales man did spent 30/40 minutes taking with me took all my information and said sighing 3-4 days I would receive something via email. 10 days later nothing so I left him a message. It took him 5 days to return my call and tell me it was t worth his guys time to give us an estimate based on a bid he gave years ago. What a waste of my time! Guess this company has plenty of money they can blow off job they feel aren't up to their standards.
The first issue I had with APEX is that in order to get me to sign the contract in Sept of 2018 they lied to me and told me that they could do the project of building out a new roof structure and then shingle the roof. So we started that paperwork and then a year later informed me that they couldn't build the roof part of the project but they were ready to shingle whenever I was. After waiting a year for this to happen we gave up on what we wanted for our house and just had it shingled in Nov of 2019. Which by the way if I didn't hound them on the phone not only would I have not known they had no intention of doing the build work, we also wouldn't have gotten the roof re-shingled. After I signed I no longer heard from them again. They found some rotted wood on the back of the house. Which we both agreed needed to be replaced. I've never seen a bill for that work. I wasn't quoted the upcharge and I honestly didn't care. I just wanted them to be done and out of my house. About a month later I'm refinancing my house to get other work done and I find APEX has a lien on my home for what I'm assuming is the cost of the wood replacement. I really wouldn't know as I still have never gotten a bill, second notice, third notice, phone call anything. The one person in the company that apparently handles this is out with no particular return time table, just out. The customer service person got angry with me that I was getting angry about this fact. Informing me that she is just trying to help me. Yes help me fix a problem 100 percent caused by APEX. Which is now holding up the work of 2 other contractors. But since no one currently working has the ability to help me you can't really do that, but gets indignant with me. Apparently how dare I be upset that my 200,000 refi is being held up for a few hundred bucks worth of lumber that I've never seen a bill for? Who does something like this. I distrust companies that bait and switch and ones with shady billing practices. If you do business with them that is on you. Honestly all this is a shame as the shingle work seems fine. There are items to quibble over and we are but that is normal construction project stuff. But there is no way the business side is just me falling thru the cracks. This is the way they do business.
Ron C.I used a different roofer just over a year ago, and they ""took me"" for many thousands of dollars, and then closed their doors. So because of ponding on my flat roof, which was the primary motivator for the first job, I called Apex based on some praise on a FB group for Lago Vista. They came out, gave me a reasonable explanation for the problems, and made a first effort to fix. While that improved the problem, it did not cure. So after talking with the head honchos, they came back, and completely redid the previous crummy roofer's job. I have several complications, such as two large skylights, and they did a superb job framing them up 8 inches to cure potential leaks, and sealed the roof with TPO, a material so efficient that I can walk barefoot on it at high noon in July and August without pain. My electrical bill has actually gone down several hundred dollars per month in AC costs. No leaks, unlike the previous roofer. Repeated visits by the foreman and the ""boss"" to insure my satisfaction. Sloping roofs are the bane of roofers, frankly, but they really know their stuff. Gracias to Alfredo, onsite foreman, and Mike, main contractor, for both their abilities and especially their follow-through. When I noticed a small increase in roof-top AC vibration, they came out at no charge and installed some very efficient vibration absorbers under the AC unit which made it better than before. I rue the money wasted on the other roofer, but am grateful Apex was able to step up and cure the other guy's failures at a reasonable price.
Cindy K.I'm guessing Apex doesn't like competition. We had called a couple of companies to come out and assess, Apex came a little early while we had another company here and said he would not provide an estimate since we had another company present and besides it looked like a small job anyway. Thanks Apex for helping make our decision to not go with you. I guess those other reviews I read about your customer service were correct.
Brad and his guys are great, and very honest! I had a roof leak and when I called Brad he came out that same afternoon, during peak season, to assess my roof. Within the next couple of days he had a guy replace some water-barrier under a section of my shingles, and they replaced the shingles in a few other areas that could have potentially caused me issues later. The price he charged was extremely fair and the job they did was great, I haven't had a leak issue since!
