Two men with Apex knocked on my door this afternoon telling me they can offer me a FREE roof! I didn't laugh, but I told them this was an HOA neighborhood, with NO Solicitation, and they said they were not soliciting. I told them that yes, they were. I asked if they had a permit to solicit, and they said they didn't need one. Whoever is in charge of APEX in Port Orange area, explain to your worker-bees, that if an HOA community, with NO Solicitation, they need to respect this. I already have a roofer in mind for roof replacement. Astro Roofing, Jimmy.
Dominic (Daytona Beach location) showed up at my front door offering a free evaluation of my roof for possible damage that might warrant a replacement, to be covered by insurance carrier with but a $1000 deductible. He took less than 2 minutes on the roof to determine it would warrant replacement with nothing but the deductible as my portion of payment. I explained that after hurricane Ian I had the insurance company inspect the roof and they found it had no appreciable damage. I refused to sign the SERVICE AUTHORIZATION CONTRACT & LETTER OF PROTECTION before discussing it with my insurance agent.
Reviewing the contract, it states ""Client agrees that any portion of work , deductibles, betterment, depreciation, or additional work requested by the undersigned, NOT COVERED BY BY INSURANCE, must be paid by the undersigned on or before it completion."" As pointed out by my insurance agent, since the insurance company had already denied the claim, it would thus again be denied and I would have been stuck paying the full amount of the roof replacement.
There was nothing Dominic could have said to assure me otherwise.
My roof is but 11 years since replaced, also making it questionable that there was damage enough to warrant the replacement.
I don't trust these people one bit.
Apex received my insurance settlement check, after mortgage co and myself endorsed it as my insurance company UPC was on the verge of going insolvent. They got my 23,000 check deposited it. Waiting to hear if it will clear. Got confirmation from insurance company it did. I have proof and copy of cashed check. So attorney who Apex referred to also got 9,000 who cashed fine. I either want my funds back or my roof replaced ASAP as I can't get new insurance without the replacement.
Triana knocked on my door today offering a free roof inspection. She only took about 15 minutes and came down to tell me great news that my roof is in great condition. I've been scammed before but it makes me happy knowing there are reputable companies who won't lie to get a sale.
Lindsey S.I love having a company I can stand behind. Everyone is professional and knowledgeable and the employees do their best to put the homeowner first. I would never recommend another company.
Our experience with this company has been the worst. They use subcontractors that do horrible work and they do not stand behind the work. We have a brand new roof that 3 companies have told us is the worst workmanship they have seen. The shingles are coming up in the front due to the drip edge installed incorrectly, they did not complete a seam in the back which will leak over time. Ever time we call them they have an excuse without sending anyone to look at it. They tell you it is hurricane damage, easy answer since we live in FL although we have not had a hurricane damaging wind in our area since we had our roof installed. We have an estimate for the repair which is $3,800 on a brand new roof. They charged the insurance company 28k, for that price we could have had 2 roofs put on our house that would not have these issues. It is sad that they are allowed to do business in FL, they are ripping insurance companies off and the customers they sell their nonsense to. If they come to your neighborhood run the other way. No customer service or quality with this company.
do not believe anything salesmen tell you, it is the complete opposite of what they say, they completed my roof in 1 day which is impressive, after it is completed pay roll wants there remaining balance immediately before any or the last inspection, they do not do financing as we were told by salesmen, after 3 weeks i still have an issue with 1 area of the roof to which the guy came out to fix it, well he made it worst and said he would be back with in 2 days its been 5 now and have knot heard from anyone, i recommend you take as many pictures as possible of the materials that is delivered because you will be charged for materals that is not used, im being charged for 4 sheets of ply-wood when only 2 1/2 sheets were used they do not take nothing back so you are stuck with what ever is left over or they toss in the dumpster, run run run do not use this co. this was a big mistake on my behalf and im paying for it, there is no communication with these people, they do not know whos doing or saying what
Absolutely the worst experience of ever having a roof replaced and this was by far not my first rodeo. From being unresponsive to taking 3 years to resolve the claim to not being helpful at all with the installation and details. Do not go with them; only if you want the worst nightmare to get your roof replaced.
Very disappointing!
Cory C.STEER CLEAR OF APEX ROOFING!!
I had apex come to our home and tell us there was hail damage in our area that likely impacted my roof. PLEASE NOTE: My roof wasn't leaking prior to this and had no visible damage that I could see. However, we went forward with replacing the roof as it was several years old and we knew a neighbor had done the same. Fast forward to three weeks after the installation of the new roof by APEX and we discovered a minor leak while in the attic on this ""BRAND NEW"" roof. Apex came out and supposedly ""fixed"" the issue, which they told me was due to their roofers FORGETTING to seal certain areas of the roof. I was upset, but at least pleased that they apparently ""fixed"" it....Unfortunately, that wasn't the case...Fast forward several months later where we discovered the leak had still been there this entire time because this recent heavy rain resulted in our laundry room CEILING CAVING IN at the EXACT same spot they originally came out to ""fix"" three weeks after initial install. Now I have a 5' x 5' hole in my ceiling, a brand new roof that still leaks, and roofing company that refuses to honor their warranty. In fact, Apex refuses to even come out and look at it. This is still the case even after my home insurance adjuster came out and confirmed the leak is a result of poor workmanship during install and NOT a result of any type of exterior wind, hail, or rain damage.
So prior to them knocking on my door about hail damage, I had an existing roof several years old but with NO ISSUES and NO LEAKS...now I have a BRAND NEW 1 year old roof that leaks, and a 5' x 5' hole in my ceiling. I would be in so much better shape if I would have never answered the door that day. PLEASE STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!! WORKMANSHIP IS POOR, CUSTOMER CARE IS A JOKE, AND THEIR ""WARRANTY"" MEANS NOTHING.
Typical door-to-door snake oil salespeople and insurance claim scammers. They lied to the guard at our gated community saying they had an appointment, then once they got in, they harassed several residents and tried to trick others with their ""free roof assessment."" They were told to leave and wouldn't, we had to call the Sheriff's office to come kick them out. Whey they heard the deputies arrived, they ran like scared little kids. LOL!!! Avoid these losers at all costs, and don't believe all the fake 5-star review they astro-turf their site with.
