Angel worked on our home (French drain, retaining wall, regrade and level lawn) and the bottom line is he does honest work for honest pay. In my experience he did everything I asked and got it done in half the time we expected. I observed almost every part of the work and freely communicated (in-person and text) with him. If I had questions he promptly met me in after hours to discuss. If I changed my mind on something, he made every effort to explain the trade-offs.

Main takeaway: Angel takes ownership of the work, openly hears feedback and takes the extra effort to make you happy.

Beware of this contractor. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Very unreliable. Seems as if he pulls open things and makes more work. Work is also very shoddy and cuts corners on materials. Improper plumbing work on our bath remodel. Closed off some necessary vents. Tub was leaking less than half a week. Brought wrong cabinets and wanted to change the door. Toilet leaked as well. We had to pay a formal plumber to fix his errors. We are worried about the electrical work, but haven't seen any problems.

Angel was thorough to say the least. He is honest and took good care of us putting in a load bearing beam to support making our condo open concept. He had great communication the entire project and helped us get the best deal even when it came to the charges for the structural engineer and city permits. Angel has done a lot of work for us over the years. He tends to point out things that need to be fixed and for us it was a great motivation to move from small projects to larger ones as I discovered that the quality of his work was quite high. He remodeled our bathroom, replaced a brick pathway including that addition of a brick covering to our front porch and other major projects. I took the risk in all of this of working without a contract as this is not one of his strong points and we were quite pleased with the outcome. He has always brought a team of good workers who finish their work leaving the area spotless. We appreciate good quality work for a reasonable price.

Angel did great work installing our bathroom vanity. We got vanity from Home Depot and it turned out broken when we opened it. He waited patiently as we went back to Home Depot to exchange it. He was on time and cleaned up everything afterwards. He charged reasonably as well. Will be getting hime to do few more repairs done at home in future.

Angel came back and finished our work and cleaned up after and left our yard clean. He seems to have changed and seems to keep his word now. His work quality is also good and detail oriented. I would definitely recommend him.

Angel started off over 20 years ago as our house painter and since that time he has also been our general contractor, at our house and at two nearby rental properties. His prices are at the low end of the bid spectrum and I agree with another reviewer, the outcome of any project has a lot to do with the quality of materials selected, so we tend to purchase those separately and pay Angel for the ""labor."" Last weekend Angel's guys came over and did a major landscaping cleanup (ivy, tree removal, digging) on our double lot, in one day as promised. As a comparison, the other two bids we collected both said two days would be necessary to complete the job; Angel's bid was 15% lower than the next lowest and 40% lower than the highest bid received. In my experience working with Angel, this is typical. They brought their own tools as usual, and left the place immaculate. I know sometimes Angel overbooks his schedule but I have no problem saying that even when problems come up, he always circles back and eventually completes things to our satisfaction. And I can't even count the times he's dropped everything on a Sunday and shown up in his soccer uniform to clear a sewer line or fix a toilet at a rental property. Over the years I estimate we've saved 20-30% in labor costs, and if that's the trade-off, I'll take it.

I have known Angel for many years. His work has ranged to excellent (a remodeled bathroom) to poor, an unfinished deck. Recently on the advice of a friend who knows him very well, and said that he is really working hard to regain his trust in business, I hired him to modify my garage door opening to accommodate a new RV. He promptly answered my call and was ready the next day to start work. We negotiated a fair price and the work was done in two days. He even added new lighting to the new garage space and fixed the driveway as well as two big potholes in the street. He works best when his estimate is for labor only and the materials are paid for separately.

I have had Angel Rodriguez and his crew work at my home and yard for the last six months; they have been responsible, creative, and professional on every job inside and outside of the home; he can do any construction job asked of him. He will get permits for every job and the owner and crew need to always draw up a contract and both need to follow it. All of his jobs pass the city or county inspections. I have been thoroughly pleased with his work and follow-through.
