I recently needed a contractor to replace our aging roof. American Cool Construction was one of four companies that I contacted for a quote. Two of those companies outright told me the job was too difficult due to steep pitch and proximity to fence and trees, among other issues. Tom, from American Cool Construction explained the difficulties but was confident his company could handle any issues. He even used a drone to inspect the conditions. From there, once the contract was signed, it was smooth sailing. The workers showed up on the promised dates and worked quickly and cleanly to replace the roof and gutters. We couldn't be more pleased with the professionalism and efficiency of Tom and his crew. I highly recommend this business.

We had American Cool Construction do a roof repair, and roof maintenance. Their project manager Guy, came out to inspect our roof and give us a price for the project. Guy was right on time, courteous and explained everything that needed to be done. The day the work began, his team was right on time and his foreman Giovanni kept us informed as the work progressed. Guy came and informed us of a pipe leak that was causing significant damage. Had his team not found that, it could have caused severe damage. Since Guys company doesn't do plumbing work, he reduced his original charge by several hundred dollars to make it more budget friendly for us since we now need a plumber. The plumber came today, looked at the extensive pictures that Guy took of the damaged pipe, and was able to do the repairs. Guy is a very honest person. He's knowledgeable and a real professional. This review is for a roof replacement and new gutters. American Cool Company provided a great service and their workmanship was outstanding.

Tom (project manager) was very thorough in explaining the project details before we agreed to anything. He also provided recommendations but most importantly he was patient and we did not feel pressured with our decisions.

The project was started promptly Monday morning and completed by Friday afternoon. There were a few boards that had dry rot damage which required additional cost but it was expected given the condition of our roof. It was all explained before we started the project and pictured during the demo so we were aware of what exactly was being replaced.

We enjoyed the no hassle experience, the value and peace of mind of ACC's workmanship warranty. We recommend American Cool Company to anyone looking for a new roof and gutters.

I found American Cool Construction after a tree fell on my roof in Feb 2024.
I got multiple quotes from different vendors and while ACC wasn't the cheapest, their offering as far as quality (50 year warranty on the roof) and price made me choose them.
My experience with this company has been top notch and 5 star since the beginning of work.

My project manager Guy came out and assessed the work quickly and thoroughly. He explained the full scope of the work needed and gave a fair quote.

During the project they identified parts of my insurance quote that were lacking (my insurance quoted for substandard supplies and below code materials) and worked with them to get me more money based on the increased costs.

The work was completed on time and beautifully, and I was misquoted on the number of downspouts (new gutters) and ACC and Guy did the additional work WITHOUT increasing my cost due to their error. This was a great customer experience for me and made me feel very good about selecting ACC as the company for my project.

Before this happened my wife and I had already talked about painting the house and ACC also offered this as a service.

We reviewed the state of the house and decided that with the rot and weather damage of the house it would be best to do siding all the way around also.

I again got quotes and reviews from other vendors, only this time ACC and Guy came in at roughly HALF THE COST of most competitors.

This work was completed with the same speed, quality, and detail as the roof and my wife and I were more than pleased.

If you are considering ANY external work on your house I would HIGHLY recommend American Cool Construction as your vendor of choice and Guy especially as your project manager!

During an attic inspection, we noticed a small discolored area on the underside of the roof deck and was concerned that it was dry rot. Nothing was leaking, thankfully, but the roof was old and it was time to get it replaced. The roof is an important structural component of any home and it's always best to research the company ahead of time before initiating any contact. Check the Contractor's License Board and make sure the company is licensed, bonded, and insured. Read the reviews posted on this website (as well as others). See if there are any complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau. (This company passed all those checks.)

It had been over 20 years since we last had any home re-roofed and we were surprised as to how much the industry had changed. A 15-year roof was an option then but it isn't today. (Not that we would ever go that route even if it were still available.) The traditional roofing underlayment, tar paper, is still an option but what was new to us was the synthetic underlayment. The lifespan (or durability) of the shingles have changed. Also, roofs must meet the Title 24 Part 6 energy efficiency standards and be a ""cool roof"".

We contacted several companies and after reviewing our options, we decided to go with American Cool Construction. They weren't the least expensive choice but they were the option that worked for what we had in mind. They install a 50-year shingle (GAF Timberline). It comes with a limited lifetime warranty and is transferable in the event that we sell the home, which is a plus. As part of the re-roof, they install an ice and water barrier around the edges and seams for extra protection and add extra ventilation (if needed). They checked for dry rot and made sure that information was communicated to us.

The completed roof looks very nice. There were a couple of minor issues during the re-roof process but the project manager made sure they were addressed and corrected. (Thanks Yan!)

Recently completed a roof replacement on a duplex in Sacramento. This is the second time I have worked with Tom and his crew as last year they replaced a roof on one of my properties in Davis. Once again, the price was fair, Tom's communication was great. The roof had sustained damage during a spring storm and was leaking. His crew came out and installed a patch that fixed the problem until the project date arrived.
Once they got started... smooooth! They were fast and efficient. Replaced gutters and shingles. Also got rid of old satellite dishes that were cluttering up the roof, and they dealt with some finicky permit issues like the pros that they are. Five star service!
