Great value and quality service. I had American Array install solar/Tesla Powerwall and redo roofing on our home. Couldn't have been happier with their workmanship and warranty! They offer one of the best combos for roof and solar! A 30 year workmanship warranty on the solar system and a lifetime warranty on GAF roof. Anytime I call in American Array staff is eager to help and answers my questions. I already referred family and friends.

This review is long pending. It's been nearly 2 years since the installation of the Solar Panels by American Array. From the day I started interacting with their Sales till the day of activation, the whole process was a breeze. They were straight forward and honest about every detail to me and helped with any questions that I had along the way. The work done to install the panels was near perfect without any hiccups or delays. The electrical work needed few changes but they were very prompt in making the required changes and everything was done in no time. There hasn't been any issues since then and everything works so seamlessly. It was an absolutely satisfying experience and will highly recommend American Array of your Solar needs.

Worst company ever don't hire them. Unless you want a city inspector to walk in open your electrical panel, nod his head in disappointment and leave immediately. Started this project since March 3rd and here I am almost August and still lingering waiting for completion. They made me wait about 1 month to add the breaker to my box for the solar panels and when they finally did, they forgot to connect it. So the inspector left in disappointment. This company does not know what it's doing. They are not the most inexpensive company, I thought they were reliable but they are unorganized and not efficient. They can't even get the electrical correct. I am so embarrassed right now. Now the inspectors are probably going to come back and make the inspection that much more difficult to pass. Shame on this company. They should quit the industry and find something they are good at to do professionally.

Just a quick update. This company does not care one bit about being competent, reliable or customer satisfaction. It's is now August 16th and still waiting on plans to be approved...I mean reapproved because last time they forgot to update the plans correctly with the city. My friends and family now laugh at me. They tell me so much for your months of research to find a company that can be counted on to complete your project. They even joke and say ""hopefully you get Solar installed before the sun dies out"". Ha ha...true story...sad, but true.

Hire any, and I mean ANY other company for your projects. ""American Disarray Solar"" is a joke. 5 months and counting!

I highly recommend American Array Solar for solar generation installation. They recently installed 16 solar panels on our residence and obtained approval from the utility company in time to qualify our 5.76 kW system for Net Energy Metering 2.0 despite the fact that I had waited until almost the last moment to apply. They were able to install all the panels on the roof in one day and worked with me regarding placement of the conduit, circuit breaker box, and A/C disconnect box. All workers were very courteous and respectful of our property. As further evidence of their expertise, American Array Solar ensured that the project passed inspection by the city and obtained approval from our utility company to turn on our system all within two weeks from the day they started work on the physical installation. The entire process was amazingly efficient and hassle-free. Everyone from the company with whom we engaged were very professional and pleasant to work with and certainly deserve our highest possible rating. Thanks Torabel, Marissa, and Adam and all of your crew!

American Array was great up until we signed the contract and paid the deposit. After that, it was a mess, including American Array damaging my roof and refusing to take responsibility for it.

Initially, we were really excited about American Array. We started talking with them in January 2023. They offered a very competitive price for a high quality product. Our sales person was knowledgeable and very patient to explain our different technology options (e.g., solar panel brands, sunlight backup, battery storage). Another selling point for us was that American Array is licensed for both roofing and solar work, so we thought we could depend on them to protect the integrity of the roof--we were wrong.

Once we signed the contract and paid the $1000 deposit, things started to go awry. We had told American Array there were a few specific parts of the roof where we didn't want the panels, but in February and March they presented us with multiple designs in those areas we wanted to avoid. After about four tries, they finally gave us the design that met the constraints we had specified--which was fortunate because the designer told us he couldn't make any more designs for us because he was already spending too much time on our project. I understand that they were probably overworked to process all the last-minute projects that came through under NEM 2, but it's not my fault they repeatedly ignored our design constraints!

The installation seemed to go smoothly enough, but American Array damaged our roof and really put up a fight to deny responsibility. Over a few days in July, American Array installed the panels, performed two quality inspections, passed the city inspection, and connected us to the grid.

American Array said the job was complete and started asking for the final payment, but before we paid, we asked our roofer to inspect the roof to make sure everything was fine. Our roofer found over 40 nails strewn about the roof, including some that had damaged our roof--likely from being stepped on. Even after two more quality checks (making four quality checks total so far), American Array was saying everything was fine, there was no damage to the roof, and they insisted that we should pay in full. I repeatedly explained my concerns about the roof damage and offered to pay the invoice less the amount to fix the damage, but they refused my offer. I showed American Array pictures of the damage, but they insisted there was no damage until my roofer told them in very specific terms what the damage was and how to fix it, at which point American Array changed their story: they said they didn't know if there was damage because we hadn't let them do a quality check--despite that they had already done four at that point and multiple people at American Array insisted there was no damage. One more quality check later (making five total), American Array finally acknowledged the damage, but said it could be made ""good as new"" with a wet patch, which would be covered under the 30-year roof damage warranty that came as part of my solar contract. I asked American Array to confirm this warranty in writing, at which point American Array said the wet patch would be covered only by a 5-year warranty--which I explained to them was not acceptable as it was less than the warranty on my roof.

After about a week of back and forth with American Array, I decided it wasn't worth the time and stress to keep arguing and just wanted to move on with my life. I decided to accept the $300 adjustment that American Array offered ""as a courtesy,"" despite it covering less than half of the cost to repair the roof damage.

In summary, lessons learned:
- American Array prioritized selling me a product over quality installation and customer service.
- American Array overstated their expertise as roofers--it was mostly a marketing tool.
- American Array gaslighted me and cut corners to save themselves a few hundred dollars at the expense of my roof's integrity.
- Always have a third party roofer inspect your roof after a solar installation.
- Budget at least $800 for roof repairs after the solar installation.

I jumped on the solar band wagon super late and was in a rush to qualify for NEM 2.0. One of my friend recommended AA solar as he was going trough solar installation himself. He referred me to Daniel and I got the quote form him after a brief phone call. I did take quotes from other vendors too and Tesla was the only one charging less then AA but Tesla by that time had stopped taking new application under NEM 2.0.

Daniel was very easy to work with and we signed the contract and submitted the application for permit to PG&E. Adam from design team reached out to me on a Saturday and went through some design issues and recommended some solutions.

Philip was our installer and he was really very informative person and answered all my questions. He did a clean job and was even present on the day when city came for inspection.

Veena kept me in loop with all the steps my application was going through and informed me when I had received PTO from PG&E.

Overall I had a great experience and i have already referred my friends to AA and they were also able to get in at NEM 2.0 rate.

The next big question is about the maintenance/warranty support from AA solar, I am hoping they will provide the same customer satisfaction.

American Array was the second lowest bidder to my solar system. I decided to go with it after a phone call with Carolina from America Array. She was the best; was very responsive, answered my questions, and had sense of urgency since it was pretty close to NEM2.0 deadline. She also price matched with the lowest quote. Adam and his project team were also super; answered our questions and concern, resolved issue during design and installation, and made sure we meet NEM2.0. They also came back and replaced broken roof tiles after installation and follow up with me. I'm satisfied with their service overall.

I hired American Array Solar for a solar installation at my house in Oakland . It was a great experience.

I had already obtained PGE approval and a permit, and American Array Solar dropped in and quickly completed the installation with high-quality workmanship. The panels were flawlessly installed, seamlessly integrating with my home. Their pricing was impressively affordable, providing excellent value without compromising quality.

I also want to highlight their excellent collaboration with the city building inspector. They followed plans diligently, resulting in a smooth process and the inspection was very quick and easy to finalize the building permit.

For installation, highly recommended. I did not use their permitting/design services so I don't have any feedback there.

The process of installing solar panels is more complicated than it sounds. You have to deal with the installer, city permits and PG&E. One can easily get bogged down in the bureaucratic maze that prolongs the completion. The biggest hurdle was PG&E. After numerous phone calls I finally realized there was nothing I could do in regards to their approval. On other hand American Array did a good job of keeping me informed regarding the process and seeing that things came to fruition on their part. After some confusion and talking to at least seven different people I was finally able to have Gina take charge. Her positive can do attitude and her willingness to listen to my frustration made the process easier. I also want to mention Jose for his professional and prompt response as head of the installation crew. In conclusion American Array had everything completed within a reasonable time line.
