I have been waiting almost 6 months for my solar to be installed and finished and no one calls and update me on why they can't finish the job
I have to constantly call and ask for updates and they say they'll call back and no one ever does, I had already told them I didn't want to move forward anymore because they lack communication with costumer's and they just said we'll you'll have to pay all the permits anyway if I didn't want to keep waiting with no updates on anything, so I would suggest anyone to find someone else for your solar plan, this experience has been frustrating and just unnecessarily long

Just got the first portion installed on my roof. It was a pretty quick turnaround once SC issued the permit. Anthony was very helpful with all concerns and questions regarding solar and gave me a very competitive quote! Their office were also very responsive to any status updates. Can't wait for project to be completed! thanks American Array Solar for making the process very smooth.

This company started out good, nice people and such. But then then during the install of the new panel they shoved the riser up and ripped open my roof . Ok, things happen sure. They then tried to cover it up and I only discovered it during pouring rain!! i was up on the roof trying to stop my leak in a massive rain storm!. Sloppy Sloppy installer! Then they did get someone to fix it after me going through all this. Now since July may panel arrays keep going down and its now September 7th and they just never respond!! This is ridiculous. Be careful and watch these installers like a hawk as they are not careful. Just got off the phone with them again September 7th 2022. They claim they dont have a contact number for their manager so I cant talk to him. lol this company was lost all my respect.

I just got my solar panels installed and awaiting for county officials to review the work before the solar panels can be ""turned on.""
My journey:
I spent quite a bit of time learning about the solar industry and the various installers servicing my area (bay area) via energysage, yelp, reddit, etc. I got quotes from nearly two dozen companies, and ended up with 3 finalists.
American Array Solar offered one of the most competitive rates (not the cheapest, but it was close) and agreed to offer me the Panasonic
EVPV400H EverVolt panels with enphase IQ8A inverters for a 15.6kW system.
The negotiation with the sales rep wasn't the smoothest, but we ultimately came to an agreement. What helped was that when the sales rep couldn't answer all of my questions, she escalated it to her manager who was much more knowledgeable and helpful.
Anyway, the actual planning and designing stage, as well as the actual installation are where American Array Solar really shined. I had nearly weekly calls from the designer which included video calls so the designer can show me his computer screen, which allowed me guide them on where the solar panels should be given that I'm aware sun and shade are on my roof (various parts of the day).
Once the plan was done, they scheduled an installation date within the week and the installation was fully completed between 9am and 4pm. I was thoroughly impressed that they were able to finish the job that quickly.
I look forward to the county officials approving the work within the next week so that my solar can officially be turned on! I'd recommend American Array Solar to others.

I asked for a Solar bid from Gladys Contreras whom is Project Proposal Consultant at American Array Solar and Roofing for a bid. After several back and forths asking for specific information about the proposal she just kept redirecting and reflecting my questions and not answering them directly. How do i know? I'm a salesperson with a 25 year career. This was one of the worst customer service sales experiences I've had in over 10 years. I can't imagine what would have happened if I had actually done $30-$40k worth of business with Gladys and American Array Solar and Roofing... what a nightmare. Run away...don't walk.

Prepare for a nightmare. Typical sleaze salesmanship with fragile egos when confronted with facts about hidden fees, which they then blame you for not knowing existed. Hilarious really. Try a more transparent company.

Update 7/20/2022: After panel installation last week, American Array also scheduled the inspection from the city, which completed successfully within the week. They also sent a person to my house to help connect the Envoy to wiki to get energy generation monitoring from my solar panels. This was completed the day after inspection. They also applied for permission to operate (PTO) to the PG&E on the same day. I am just waiting an approval from PGE to start using my solar and build credits.
Glad to have worked with the very efficient team at American Array.

We are impressed with the services. We were connected to them through Energy Sage. I decided to use them because they were local. It was a tough decision, but being local was a deciding factor for me.
We signed the contract in April of 2022 and we were fully connected by July.
We were informed of each step. The roofing person, installers, and person who met with us were nice. We were called, texted, and emailed throughout the process.
Good job, American Array Solar and Roofing,

I received an offer through American Array (AA) through Energy Sage, along with several other offers. After evaluating the offers and working on a couple designs, I committed to AA. Danny was very helpful with the initial explanation of the process, design and financing options and then Adam took over on most of the remainder of the process. He worked great with us on design and provided several options for the layout. Once the layout was finalized, the process went really quickly. The county permit was issued in two business days and the entire system was installed three days after the permit was approved. Final inspection was scheduled about two days after installation. It was very quick and the system has been working well. Today I received approval from PG&E and they have officially allowed the system to operate. I can't say enough about how well the team at AA worked to get everything completed and answered all of my questions along the way. Thanks to Mary, Lorena and Veena as well.

They submitted the most competitive quote on EnergySage. My interaction with the sales rep was positive - very responsive and never felt they were overselling their services. The home visit and drawing were done pretty quickly. Took three months for the permit. Once the permit was done, they arrange installation immediately and it was done in 2 working days, they were efficient, professional, and thoughtful. They submitted permission to operate immediately after the installation and I got pge confirmation within 3 weeks after the installation.
My only complaint is that I wish they had communicated with me more proactively and frequently during the 3 months wait for permit approval. They did offer to pay for my electricity bill after I expressed my frustration with their lack of communication.
For us, it took four months from contract signing to permission to operate. Overall I'd recommend them, they did get the job done. And I appreciate them striving to improve customer experiences.
Last note, we are glad that we didn't go with Tesla ---- a friend who ordered the Tesla system two months before us is still waiting for installation scheduling.
