full disclosure My install goes in tomorrow! Im rating them so low because their sales propsal and my contract have different equipment. The proposal and talking them had different equipment than the contract. My fault for not reading the contract in full but the sales manager Omar told me its not their fault and it's my problem. I have 3 emails out to them asking them to call me to go over plans, all unanswered. I have proof that the contract and sales proposal is different. I hoping the install is excellent! However even if the install goes great I would avoid this company!!!!

I filed a complaint with BBB. This is not how business should be run. See below pictures from the same docusign file showing where they changed the equipment.

Previously, I could only view my solar energy production in the Enphase app, not my consumption. I contacted American Array Solar, the company that installed my solar panels, to address this issue. They dispatched a technician who installed a new Consumption Current Transformer (CT) in my Enphase box. Now, I can see my real-time energy consumption. I'm very pleased with their service and would highly recommend them. They truly care for their customers and will go above and beyond to help you out.

I was referred to American Array Solar and Roofing by my relative who had great experience. I got quotes from other companies as well and American Array Solar was the most competitively priced of all in the bay area. The team did a great job in reroofing, MPU, solar and EVC! Once the design was finalized everything including permits was done in about 2 months! much faster than i had expected! Shout out to Mary, Alex, Hernandez and the entire team! The only surprises were plywood needed in reroofing and the extra distance and cost incurred in installing the batteries farther from MPU (which is due to city codes)

I must say that I was very apprehensive when I signed up for roof replacement and solar installation. I had gone through the process of researching all of the alternative installers and chose American Array because they offered a very competitive price AND they were almost local. American Array met all of my expectations and surpassed most of them. The roofers were prompt and efficient and very likable. The men who installed the panels were also very methodical. The electrician, Nick, who installed the battery and completed the electrical work was very respective of the property and a true professional. The project manager, Mary, was very responsive and clearly on top of the entire project and stayed in touch until PG&E signed off on the installation. Needless to say, I am very pleased with American Array.

An angry worker from our local electric company gave American Array Solar a really hard time with the final approval. I called the electric company and they refused to talk to me. But American Array took are of it by calling electric company until they finally gave in. Thanks for sticking by our side even though you probably lost money on the job you did with us. You guys rock!

I want to give these guys a decent review. They saved me money versus Tesla, at least at the time I got the estimate. But the office was a bit disorganized. It took a while to get the installation done. They sent an electrician from Fresno who brought an apprentice and they made a few mistakes that I caught that prompted American Array to fire them after the job. Also the installation used ""feet"" roof attachments that departed from the approved plans. But the real problem was subsequent to the job I decided I wanted to add a second battery. I got a quote that was 50% lower from another vendor to add a Powerwall. This vendor was the same guy American Array hired to design my system. But they said if I wanted to go with an outside vendor for a second battery, my entire warranty would be voided. Never mind that this is a guy they've worked with and trust and he isn't touching the roof. I complained, a lot, and their compromise was to say I would have to hire them to babysit the vendor during the installation to make sure nothing is messed up. Price? $1400. For a guy to stand there for 90 minutes. Why piss off a customer like that? A good review and reference for neighbors that want their own solar is probably more valuable?

I was a little skeptical when I first got the really competitive quote from this company, so competitive that I thought it was a scam. I then ran all due diligence and decided to proceed with this company.
The roofing work done was of quality. The materials employed are very high quality and the roofers are experienced. I would not worry about the price being too good to be true as I know in the industry, a lot of roofers initially quote low and rack up the prices during the project.

What is listed and what is discussed with this company, in writing, whether by email or contract was enforceable in good faith in my scenario. But best have everything in the contract.

THE ONLY CAVEAT is that I would put down everything I wanted done on my roof to get a quote prior to the beginning of project. A level of research is necessary to ensure that all bases are covered and don't be afraid to ask questions. This company answered a lot of questions as we went back and forth entering new information in the contract. They were patient and once roofing started, the project was completed within 2 business weeks. (My roof was a little big so it took longer than a week).

But please RESEARCH RESEARCH and quote EVERYTHING I.e. rafter tails, or Burlingame code to install plywood, how many layers you have to remove etc. prior to starting your project.

It has been about 2 years since Solar Array installed my solar panel system and I am well pleased. We have had $0 PGE bill for all of this time and I love being able to monitor my system with the Enlighten app. We are able to see day by day, month by month and even year by year usage and control our power usage. When I first met Omar with Solar Array, I hit him with all kinds of solar questions and he answered them all. I was tired of those selling solar telling me about the gift cards and perks but knew nothing about solar and always tried to set up a sales appointment at my home. Omar was very knowledgeable and I have found everything that he told me was true. Man of integrity and I appreciate that. I am an 38 year retired union electrician and well pleased with the electrical installation. My experience overall has been great and I have told several of my friends and family about Omar and Solar Array. They are truly customer service people! Thanks Omar.

2) Site survey/inspection wasn't done by qualified team (Electrician and installer)
a) No formal site inspection report
b) Site survey person - Took pictures ONLY
4) Electrical team and company is not very knowledgeable on EMS to mitigate MSP upgrade
5) Initial site plan was drafted with very little info
a) Home owner even needs to provide sample site plan for city compliance
6) Company is NOT really committed to support with obstacles
7) For folks considering solar, do your homework as much as possible..
8) Currently, company license is NOT listed as C-46 solar contractor (based on lic#993467)
9) No dedicated program mgr, but one person was acting (claimed) as program mgr, supervisor, electrical engr and etc...
10) Mgmnt - Not helpful
11) Takeaway - Think real hard with this solar shop (Not worth your time and efforts)... Stay away!!
