we recently had a hail storm in our area. Altex remodeling were the come knocking on my door. after the second visit i gave the guys a chance to talk to see what there was to offer. they did a temporary repair on my house (placed a tarp) told me to sign a piece of paper so they could talk to my insurance. I signed this paper *note the paper also had lines for numbers to be entered in but there were no numbers and i was told by the owner Patrick Nevers that this was NOT a contract and was NOT binding until the paper was filled out with actual numbers. well almost a month went by and going back and forth with the insurance. I hear back from the original sales guy named Alex. he told me the price for JUST THE ROOF would be $12k+ so i asked how much was it per sqft. no set price but since they knew how much i was getting back from the insurance they figured they would use all the money. I then asked another guy who was working on my neighbors house how much it would be. Without looking at my insurance papers he went off the sqft of my home and told me it would only be $7k and some change. well we proceed to tell Altex remodeling that we no longer needed their services and Patrick then stated that we were in a binding contract and he would get his lawyers involved due to him doing work on my home. Mind you there has been no work done. He threatened that he would take me to court. that i have a contract with him. the PAPER that i have has NO numbers written so how can there be a contract?! was very belligerent. my husband stayed calm while telling Patrick over and over we no longer needed their services we were going with someone else. Patrick then proceeded to tell my husband ""listen you MF are you not F'n listening"" at this point it was a lost cause. my husband told him to not call us back. needless to say Patrick from Altex tried to con my husband and i to get our roof done by them. NEGATIVE. you cant and threaten and try to scare someone into having your work done with their company. Very unprofessional. I never received a set price on anything that needed to be done to my home. we went with different contractors and received numbers straight off the back and they didnt even have to look at the amount that our insurance was giving us.
