Called Allied today to schedule an estimate for the property in Grapevine I am about to purchase. They would not work with me. Then I read the reviews and I am glad I didn't get to work with them. I am perplexed as to how these guys are still in business after no many negative reviews.

I made an order in October with the promise of a 4-6 week install. 10 weeks later I called to check on the medium size order. They said I will check on that? 3 weeks later the install started. 5 windows installed damaged. 2 windows missing. This process went on week after week for 10 more weeks. No apologies no attempt to make it correct. The day after the last window was finally installed the demand of the last $500 that I held back at the beginning that they did not like. I explained that the service had been poor at best and the guarantee was not fulfilled. Are your really are asking for the last $500. I had not even complained. They said that it was not there fault that the manufacture could not get it correct and it was my problem please pay now. The installation team was great the 8 times I saw them but horrible experience otherwise.

Here was the response copied and paste

Because the windows have been completely installed at this point, we do ask for complete payment. The goods and services have been fully received albeit a bit later than either of us would like. Again, this is due to manufacturer error, not Allied.

I have two pages written about our awful experience with Allied, but Yelp limits my text, so here it is in a nutshell.

We had half the cedar siding on our home replaced with hardie siding and ordered three windows to be replaced. We also had the fiberglass insulation replaced with spray foam insulation through a different company which had to be coordinated with the siding install.

Scheduling is awful, Marisol does not know what the heck she is doing. Don't listen to her if you are trying to coordinate with another trade. Our insulation guy almost walked off the job because they had to stand around and wait on the siding guys to finish pulling the old siding off after I was reassured they would easily have it all off in two hours. The insulation guy ended up having to cancel another job due to the delay.

They damaged our brand new $20k composite balcony because they didn't cover it and were dropping the old siding on it from the top of an extension ladder. They also leaned their ladders against the handrail without covering the railing to protect it and scratched the edges of the railing. It is a composite deck and railing so the damage is permanent. They also broke a window by dropping siding that my 21 month old daughter had just been standing next to while she was getting a toy out of her toy box. Glass went all in her toy box. No one said anything or offered to help clean up the mess. We had to ask them 3 times to cover the broken window from the outside while we took care of the inside.

All the banging on the house from pulling the siding off and installing the new siding opened up two very large cracks clear across our main entry wall and also created multiple nail pops. These cracks are about twenty feet long and you can stick a penny in them. We just had these walls textured and painted two years ago, and now have to pay to have them redone.

We also arranged to have 3 windows replaced. We are on order number 3 as of today, because no one can get it right. All three windows showed up a week ago, all the wrong type and wrong size. A rush order was supposed to be placed, which didn't happen, and I just received a copy of the re-order and one of the windows is wrong again. In the meantime I have one broken window and one they removed to replace that they had to re-install upon realizing the new ones were wrong. Both are leaking our heating and cooling to the outside and hopefully it doesn't rain, because they only covered the one with a thin piece of plastic and blue painters tape that didn't even stay stuck to the outside of the house for 24 hours.

I spoke to Ernie this afternoon and let him know the window order is wrong again. He said he would check on it when he got home and give me a call back. I'm still waiting.

This has been a very poor experience. At this point, I don't think anyone that works at Allied has a clue as to what they are doing and those that have an idea of what they are doing, don't care and don't follow through. I would NOT recommend this company to any

UPDATE: It's been two weeks since Allied showed up with completely incorrect windows. To date, the re-order that was promised to be a rush order, STILL HAS NOT BEEN PLACED. After posting my review last week, Ernie did show up to remove the broken glass from the window they broke and replaced it with a piece of plexi glass to make that a little safer and secure from weather until the new windows come in. But that's the extent of their actions. We are at our whits end with this and about to completely cancel the order and demand they pay for the window they broke and the damages caused by their carel
We also, in the meantime, hired someone to come fix the 20 foot long cracks in our entry wall. It cost us $800 to have the damaged gyp board cut out, the wall re-mudded and re-painted properly. Allied just wanted to shoot some caulk into the cracks....

Final Update: We fired them. They NEVER got the window order right. Never offered to fix the damage they caused. The owner made one phone call attempt. He left a voicemail asking me to call him back so we could get this window order placed. No offer of compensation for damages or apology for his crews absolute incompetence. I didn't bother calling back. Pathetic. DO NOT USE ALLIED!!!!!

January 2019 Update - The strong winter wind caused whistling in my master bedroom (same windows that were boarded up). I discovered several drill holes in the inside frame (picture posted). Air is definitely blowing through these holes. I purchased these windows for energy saving.....

Allied did the siding on my home. The bad news was it took two months from the time we signed the contract. The excuse was due to all the rains we've had this month, which is true. The Hardie Board was dropped off in my and two weeks laters a team of four installers came and did the job. Took four days and the clean up was great all in all a good job. My only knock on Allied is time and communications.

So I didn't have Allied do any work so I can't comment on their workmanship. This review is for the outrageous estimate quote.
I had them come out to do an estimate. I wanted 3 things done.
1) 4 windows replaced and two windows converted to French Doors.
2) new concrete pour, stamped and stained for back patio
3) Shingled Patio cover
The guy tried to sell me things I didn't want and sign a contract with a $42,000 estimate !!!!! That is way too much money and how can they justify that cost?!?
I have since gone with the little guy contractors and got all the things I wanted for a total cost of $18,200.
Allied seems to be hugely overpriced and very high pressure sales. No Thanks.

Your response in very insulting to the consumer. You say I don't care about quality, the exact opposite is true. I just don't wish to be price gouged. The contractors I've hired are very high quality work that would be insulted by your remarks as well.
But hey, best of luck, as you say.

They took 3 weeks to call to set up a window measuring, we cancelled as we decided to wait for a second quote, they charged our card 7500 when we would told there would be no charges until after completion. We will go somewhere else.

Wow, what else can I say? Allied has done an amazing job on my house. And beyond that their customer service is second to none. A small hiccup in communication gave them the opportunity to demonstrate how awesome they are. They take responsibility and do a great job. I would hire them back in a heartbeat! I cannot recommend them enough for siding.

Allied Siding and windows replaced the siding on my rental property . The installation of the siding went well but a few hours after the crew completed the job my home was robbed of $3,500 worth of tools and lawn equipment.
I contacted the management team at Allied siding and asked if their crews were background checked and bonded. My project manager Bill told me that this 4 member crew was sub contracted to perform my installation and they were all background checked. This statement was not true since I had six sometimes seven contractors working on my home. I can't prove that this crew robbed my home, but I know I had 3 or 4 individuals working on my property and Allied had no idea who these people were. Be careful and make sure to secure you property after working with this company.

I cannot recommend Allied Windows and Siding. Facts: Siding discussed with and demoed by sales rep not the siding that showed up & installed on house, took 3 weeks to get a second measurement and they did not bring ladder so they never measured upstairs windows causing some custom fitting during install, two month delay on starting with excuse of short staffed only to be called to confirm window color a month after windows were supposed to be ordered, installer left 2 55 gallon trash containers full of glass on site for a month before retrieval, paint splattered on brick all around causing return visit and even more cleanup time. Requested a cost reduction due to all these issues and chased final decision for a month because warranty were being withheld pending final payment only to receive a demand for final payment within 48 hours with property lien threats and account status set to delinquent even though we were waiting on final decision and 90+% of job already paid. Called later by a staff of Allied headcount after posting experience to social media to ""make this right"" but nothing different was offered and was subjected to them telling me how I am mistaken and they stand by their company's work. We can certainly agree to disagree on that one. I should note I have written, recorded, and documented evidence of all I have stated here and am consulting legal professionals on the best course of action if any.
