Allied Coastal roofing is the best. We got hit by heavy rains and had an unexpected leak. Gary came in, quickly replaced the roof at a very reasonable price. His workers are super fast, professional, and respectful. I am so grateful to him.

I found Gary and Allied Coastal Roofing and Building on Yelp. 5 Stars was enough for me to give them a chance... and now I can't say enough about Gary and Allied Coastal Roofing and Building!! My roof ended up being SO bad... I used a lot of the 'building' section of this business. Gary came out for the original estimate and was very honest and forthcoming, which attracted me immediately after having a succession of 5 truly lousy roofers work for me over the years. The estimate was very reasonable, but of course he had no idea how bad the structure was going to look when the old roofing was torn off. I had no idea either. OMG they ended up having to redesign and rebuild the flat part 'completely', and the pitched roof was full of dry rot and termite damage and needed to be replaced, and the facia was rotten. And with all this new damage found, Gary still did his very best to keep my costs down and I appreciate that so much! I am SO thankful that it was Gary and his journeymen on my roof for a full week of repairs and beautiful new roofing. And a huge shout out to Oscar, the foreman up there who made this anxiety-ridden process 'very doable' for me and my dog, living under that roof for the many days of work needed above our heads. Oscar is a beautiful extension of Gary and his honesty, integrity and great work ethic. One of them was ALWAYS on site working, easy to talk with and eager to explain the process... AND most important... both men always chose to 'do the right thing' for me. I will never use another roofing/building company and I have already and will continue to refer Gary every chance I get. You will not be sorry if you use this business! THANK YOU GARY!!

Had an extremely negative experience with Allied Coastal Roofing & Building. Call their number and went to voicemail. They (Jacquie) called me back, schedule an appointment with ""the owner"" (Gary) to meet me at the property 2 days later. I asked for Gary's mobile just in case we need to connect the day of the appointment. I waited for an hour and it was a no show. I called Gary's mobile and it was not working (did Jacquie give me the wrong number?). I called their main number twice leaving messages for Jacquie. I called again later that day and left another message. No return call or apology, complete waste of time.

Allied Coastal Roofing does quality work all the way! Gary is absolutely professional and a man of his word. His crew is extremely hard-working, courteous, and strive to get it right. Gary did an outstanding job of communicating with us throughout the project, and went out of his way to accommodate us in every way. Gary Somerville is the owner.... he came out and gave my wife an estimate (on time when he promised) for a roof leak. With all the rains over the past months, I expected to be blown off; but, the estimate was fair &b reasonable; we accepted it, and, again, surprise - Gary's crew led by Oscar showed up when promised, completed the work on schedule; and ... most importantly ... the quality of the work was/is excellent. I work out of our home; my office overlooks our roof, and I was able to watch Oscar and the crew. Excellent job. To top it off, at the end of the two and half days when the crew knocked off, each and every day, Oscar and the crew meticulously cleaned up. Excellent job; I am very happy we used Gary and Allied........ the five star review was earned.

I can not thank my lucky stars enough that I found Gary and his crew to replace my flat roof 13 years ago. He started by completely tearing off the old roof. Something that no one else had done. I had been replacing the roof every 10 years before Gary.

I saw his name and number on his truck is how I found him. Rock and tar was always used on the roof before. I asked Gary to use the same stuff that I saw on the flat roofs of commercial buildings that I could see. I figured they would not be re-roofing those buildings every 10 years, too expensive. Not sure what he used but thankfully he did a wonderful job. His crew was very considerate and during the whole process. It was not a good time for me because I was receiving Chemo Therapy at the time. I still needed the roof done when he was available.
You can not go wrong if you choose him.

I had several quotes by yelp contractors. The Allied (Gary) quote was very competitive and I would definitely get a quote if you live in the South Bay. Allied has both workers comp and liability insurance. Don't get a quote by anyone who doesn't have BOTH types of insurance or you will be trading your personal liability for lower roofing costs. Allied also pulls roofing permits with the City of Redondo.

I did read one bad review and I would disregard a review by anyone who did not have a roof put on by Allied. Gary only has one crew and they get busy because they are good and competitive in price. You may need to wait a bit but it is worth it! All I know is when they commit to a job they work it (weather permitting). I DON'T CARE IF MY ROOFER DOES NOT RESPOND TO SALES CALLS QUICKLY AS LONG AS HE WORKS ON MY JOB BEFORE THE RAIN.

I had an extensive amount of fascia to be replaced. The way this is quoted is by the foot depending on the amount of damage found. I don't think it is a good idea to accept quotes that have a fixed amount specified for wood replacement. Rather they should quote you by the foot. Make sure all types of wood are called out in your quote and carefully pay attention to the installed prices of the replaced wood. Allied seemed to be reasonable on wood replacement prices. My wood replacement charges were $3,000. Allied was very careful about replacing damaged wood and making certain it was sound. There are several details where roofers can skimp and cut corners that I became aware of only after my roof was going on. However, I found that the Allied quote included all new painted flashing's and dormers. Additionally I negotiated vent replacement and skylight replacement.

Allied kept me dry during the job and the communication was excellent. It did rain 80% of the way through my job because the wood replacement took far more time than expected. Allied worked on Saturday to make sure I was dry from a pending storm. I would trust them to roof even in the rainy months because Gary seems to be a bit paranoid about the rain and I like that. Allied cleans up every day. The job site is spotless at the end of the day. They not only clean up outside but the inside of my garage had all sorts of roof tear off debris and they cleaned up that too!

In summary Allied (Gary, Oscar and crew) provide a great value and have excellent quality and care about your long term satisfaction.

Gary is honest, experienced, reliable and a straight-shooter. He and his team did terrific work replacing my entire roof, and since he's also a general contractor, was able to provide additional guidance when other contractors came through my home to give estimates. I trusted him completely with his recommended repairs and he did not steer me wrong. Highly recommended.

I hired Allied Coastal Roofing to install a ventilation pipe through my roof to hook up a ventilation fan in my bathroom. They arrived on time, were nice people, and did a good quality installation. My bathroom fan is properly ventilated now, thanks!
