After losing shingles in last year's wind storm we developed roof leaks, I dreaded having to deal with the repair. I called All Star and Lynn was super sweet, told me she could have someone out to inspect our roof within 24 hours. Terry came by when we weren't home, inspected the roof, took a lot of photos and left a packet with the bid and photos. We were pleased to hear he did not recommend replacing the whole damaged area, saving us $400 from the insurance adjuster estimate. I expected that since I told Lynn that's what the insurance recommended that's what they would bid. I called the next morning to approve the bid and Lynn said she'd let me know by end of day when it could he done. Ended up they could do it the next day, Jason did the repair was fast, clean and even trimmed trees the we're rubbing our roof slightly. It took a total of four days from quote to repair, if we need more repairs I know who to call!

Called, scheduled, and fixed all in one day. Price was very reasonable and Jason was great. I would use these guys again. They also took pictures and emailed receipt very quickly.

We bought an older house that was leaking in several areas and had previous patch work. We contacted several companies in the Austin area. One came out and declined to work on our roof saying it was too complicated. That same roofer had previously roofed another house for us so this was very surprising. Our house is a simple 1940 one story with detached garage. We also had a repair quote the prior owner had obtained. Terry from All Star came out and performed an inspection. He provided separate quotes for the house and garage in case we wanted to focus on the house first. The quote was competitive to the repair /patch estimate we had. Terry let us know the things we would need to do in advance like provide electrical outlet, access to driveway, and recommendation to cover items in our garage since the prior roof was an old wood shingle with no decking so would require breaking up the shingles. The materials and crew arrived on time and the job was completed in one day. The cost was at the quote with the exception of a couple of deck sections needing replacement at very reasonable cost. Terry also opted to use an insulated decking for our garage at no added cost so we could use the garage for other purposes if we choose to later. The crew did a great job cleaning up. I did find a couple of nails later but these seem to have worked their way into crevices on the drive more than anything else.

The day after the roof was installed (early October 2013) Austin had the massive rainstorms that caused significant flooding. We did not have a single issue and have gone through multiple large storms with no issues. Overall we are very satisfied with the communication, work quality, and hometown friendliness of Terry and his team/family.

All Star had great Yelp reviews. Called them. They answered the phone and pledged a call back / visit within a couple days. Called me back and came out on time as scheduled. Jason checked it and found the problem pretty quickly. Fixed on the spot with a 5-year warranty. Minimum cost. Great service. A+++

Update 10-14-13..........the skies fell this weekend....12+"" of rain in 24 hours my neighborhood. No problems with my roof. Really happy I got it fixed when I did.

All Star provides the rare and valuable combination of a family business that is run like a much larger, well-oiled machine. If you're into the personal service and general flexibility of family-run shop, Terry and Lynn are available by phone or text at all times and will try their best to meet any request you have of them. And if you're into the professionalism and polish of a big corporation, All-Star Roofing has that too--from the folder-bound quote packet that comes with every estimate and explains everything from the company's background to the week's weather forecast, to the wide selection of products and services and the quality of work.

Like every company, there were a few hiccups. They forgot some wire mesh on a small rodent-intrusion repair we did a few months back, and didn't get back out to add it for several weeks. And when we replaced the roof last month, they were a bit late on the first day of work and forgot to alert me.

BUT, the thing that makes All Star different from so many other companies is their insistence on apologizing (sincerely), promising to do better, and fixing the problem. Customer service is a serious concern for them.

Oh, and did I mention they are a great value? Terry drastically outbid two other companies for the roof replacement last month, and offered a better warranty.

We've moved to Dallas, but if they'll make the trip up, we'll definitely be calling Terry about our next roof.

At a time in Austin when it's tough to find a roofer, All Star Roofing stands out. I called about 5 roofers to have some repairs done on our roof. 2 never answered the phone or returned calls, 1 answered the phone and said they'd get back with me and never did, and another one said he'd be out to take a look and never showed.

After all this, I re-checked Yelp and found All Star. Thanks goodness I did! They're a family-run business and have been in Austin for years. Just finding a local roofer who's been in Austin more than 10yrs is a challenge by itself. That said, Jason (Terry's son) came out to bid on the work we needed after I spoke to Lynn, Jason's mom. Get the picture? It's family-run from top to bottom. Families usually care about their reputation, so you can rest assured you'll get great work at a fair price. They also guarantee their work, which is something not many other roofers offer.

I'd previously worked with a roofer who's also been in Austin for years, but his communication had been lacking and the work he delivered was sub-standard. I'll work with All Star going forward and will highly recommend them anytime I hear someone saying they're looking for a roofer they can trust.

Surviving the great Austin windstorm of 2013 with All-Star Roofing!!

First of all, All-Star roofing did an amazing job on my roof. They went over and above! They got my roof done, when they said it would be done. They were tidy and professional. I felt like they did a great job communicating during the entire process.

I had about 1/2 my roof blow off during the ""great Austin windstorm of 2013"" and they were able to work with what I had left to get my roof back up to code, and well within budget. They did several EXTRA things while they were up there to make my roof the best it could be...like rehabbing some top flashing and sealing several small nail holes, which had nothing to do with the original job. I felt like they took extra time and effort to make this partial roofing job as good as a brand new roof...and it's appreciated!

Regarding the low ratings that All-star got recently: simply put, it's unwarranted! If anything, these guys are a victim of their own success. All-Star Roofing had nothing but 5-star ratings until this latest storm, where a 1000+ roofs needed fixing all at the same time.

I called 5 different roofers after the storm and All-Star was the only company to call me back. And even though they weren't able to fix my roof immediately, they explained to me what was going on, and they kept me in the loop regarding their work schedule. They put up the temporary Shark Skin when it was needed, and fixed my roof before a single drop could get in my house. Considering the workload and stress they were under, I am very happy with how it all went down.

Terry had been working w/ us since our relocation to the South Austin area last year.
The primary problem we've been experiencing is the leak in the kitchen when there's a heavy rain storm. Fortunately in Texas area there is not much rain so to speak. But since the house's been showing some wearing from age, we decided to have it fixed and repaired anyways. It's been well over six months and we haven't had to call Terry back again so kudos to the work quality here.

As far as communication goes all star roofing has been responsive and paying attention to our requests. Can't exactly remember but one or two times when we couldn't reach him, we got responses within one or two days. Also I learned that they've been quite busy because of the growing business as well as the unexpected weather strikes.
I'm not too sure about the communication problems others experienced but from what we saw, we will wholeheartedly recommend this place for your next roofing project.

We had 2 leaks in our roof, the one I thought was the most damaging was leaking by our ceiling light in front of the fireplace, it was so bad I had to put a bucket under it; the other didn't look so damaging was on our covered porch. I had gone through 3 roofers to fix the leak over the fireplace. All said it was the chimney, one said the boards on top were rotted and we had them repair it, still leaked. Another two said the HardiePlank covering the exterior of the chimney was installed wrong and it needed to be redone and that it was leaking where the chimney connected to the roof, so they sealed it. That didn't do the trick either. Finally I called All Star Roofing, and they sent out Jason Paris (owners son) he immediately found the leak above the fireplace and it wasn't anything to do with the chimney. It was a dormer that was not sealed properly where the roofing material was next to it. The insurance adjustor that we previously had out told us we would need to replace the sheetrock on our ceiling, but after Jason looked at it he said the sheetrock was still good, it just need Kilz and repaint. We had him do that too and it has not leaked or shown water damage in the ceiling for 3 years now. The other leak on the covered porch to my surprise was the most damaging. When our home was constructed they did not frame the part of the roof that attaches the covered porch to the house properly. When Jason removed the shingles he saw their work and the extensive damage from rain where it had rotted all the wood and the wood to reinforce that part of the roof was nonexistent. Jason reworked all that part of the roof and as of today there are no leaks. Also, that same insurnace adjustor showed me a place on the roof where the 2nd story frame attached to the roof was not trimed and he said it would cause problems. Jason looked at it and said it wouldn't cause a problem but he went ahead and trimmed it so we wouldn't have a problem with the insurnace. He also replaced missing shingles due to high winds. I also had Jason reinstall our Cupola over our pointed roof gazebo that I had previously taken down to restain and he installed the weather vane. This company knows their roofs and roofing problems. When ever we need a new roof All Star is the ones I'm calling, I have complete faith in them and their work, no shoddy work done here. Side note, it's 3 years later and our weather vane has come unwelded on parts of it. I called Jason and he came out and took it down and will repair it and reinstall it. So glad I found them, they are the best!
