All Bay Solar recently completed the installation of solar panels on our roof and also upgraded our service panel and breaker box. We purchased the system directly from Sunpower who contracted with All Bay for the installation. They did a great job and I am very happy with the service and follow up. They needed to move the service panel around the corner of our house and even patched the shingles where the old meter was removed and repaired the sheetrock by the new breaker box in the house. The panels look great on the roof. We used the all black panels because they are very prominent on the roof.

We finally decided to go solar and after months of research we choose sunpower to provide our solar needs. Sunpower sent All Bay Solar to complete our job. The process went in a few stages first they sent a team to perform a site survey from All Bay Solar once that was completed we had to wait for permitting and the next step will be what this review will be about which was the installation process.

All Bay solar sent out two teams to perform the solar installation one of the teams worked on the roof to place to solar panels and fasten them to our roof, and the the second team was working on upgrading our fuse box to circuit breakers due to our home was built in the early 50's our service panel had to be upgraded. The service panel upgrade took the longest part, but when all was said and done the new circuit breaker box looked amazing and we were just about happy with what was done. Although there was a minor hiccup that occurred with our older wiring, while they were switching out our circuit breaker they didn't mention to us an important key factor of unplugging everything in our home to prevent any of our electronics for having a circuit meltdown. There was only two of our items that fried our circuits one was our upright freezer and the other was our garage door opener, which after the circuit breaker upgrade did indeed fry the motherboards. When I spoke to the electrician and the installers they said I should expect a call from the office to resolve the problem. There was no phone call so I called them instead which was no problem at all.

Now that the garage door opener and upright freezer was out of commission, we were told that both would have to be replaced which was fine with us. The only problem was that they had to order the parts so which took really long due to a miscommunications error. The owner Carlos was away on vacation for awhile, so nothing can be done until his return. When Carlos returned we lost all our food in the upright freezer and we had to keep our garage door locked and closed which was a slight problem due to us leaving the house for everyday errands we could no longer leave from the garage so we just sacrificed. The bad part of the whole situation was loosing all the food in the upright freezer. When Carlos returned from his vacation, Catalina was my person of contact she informed me that they had ordered us a new upright freezer and will arrive in a few days, and after a few hours of delay on the arrival day Carlos the owner and one of his employee's came to deliver the freezer and for that part we were happy. The garage door opened however was not installed until a few days later, and again it was Carlos who came over. It took Carlos a few hours to install the garage door opener, but once installed everything worked out perfectly the only thing was we originally had a screw drive garage door opener and it was replaced with a belt one although we would have preferred another screw or chain drive garage door opener everything is working good.

Carols the owner along with his entire team was friendly, and knowledgeable with the exception of unplugging everything. Despite loosing all our frozen food and waiting two months to get everything up and running again we are completely satisfied with the job that Bay Area Solar did for us, and I would definitely recommend them for your solar needs as they will fix any problems that occurred when they did the installation of our solar panels.

This has been one of the worst experiences ever. All Bay Solar came out initially and installed a new breaker panel which was undersized, and the inner cover never really fit over the breakers, bulging out at various points, and a lid you could barely close. After complaints to Sunpower, who had used these guys as a sub, the manager then followed up by coming up later in the weekend, and gingerly tucking the wires in the MPU. Then, they sent out a carpenter to finish it up. I had explicitely stated that I had matching siding they should use and that they should come to the home when I wasn't out of town. I even scheduled it as such. Instead, they came out to the house and hacked in some scrap pine instead of the real siding. Then to add insult to injury, a few weeks later I went into the spare bedroom in preparation for visitors and had to clean up 3 buckets of mud that was tracked in from the crawlspace hatch in the closet of the same room.

This is one of the most unprofessional contractors I have worked with.

Now, I am left with a load center that does not really latch at all, will probably bang around in the wind, carpentry work that needs to be corrected (likely at my personal cost), and a very, very disatissfied customer. I will be reporting them to the BBB as well. Their license should be yanked.

I installed the solar system last year December. I called three companies to get the quotes. Two companies, All Bay Solar and High Definition Solar came down to the location. They all quoted with premium quality products. All Bay Solar Company's quote is the least expensive. Their 18 panels system (5 kw+) is about the same price as the other company 12 panels system and they will do the service panel and wire replacement free of charge. The other company asked additional $2000 to do.
At first I am afraid as I believe in what you pay is what you get.
But I read about their company review in Yelp and I decided to go with them.
I have made a good choice. It save me quite a lot of money and their workmanship is very good. They even go extra to work with the client to deal with the permit and the inspection process.
It is already three months and my system is producing as it should and I am a happy man whenever there is Sun shine.

After receiving and comparing five proposals from different solar companies we decided for All Bay Solar as their proposal best matched out needs. We set a date but when the weather forecast predicted rain for those days, Carlos, the owner, was able to change the dates and had the panels installed before the rain storm arrived. It was a pleasure to work with Carlos, his office staff and his crew. When i decided to put solar panels on my roof I looked into 4-5 companies (SolarCity, Luminalt, Sungevity, Sunpower and another small local one) and got detailed quotes. All Bay Solar gave me one of the best quotes, was easier to deal with and very clear about the economics of solar, with no BS. For example, only All Bay Solar mentioned that the city rebate is taxable.
The owner, Carlos, was very prompt and straightforward. Once I signed the contract, it took a couple of days to get the material. Installation was super-easy. Carlos' team was professional, courteous and cleaned up very well. The system worked perfectly from day one. They also managed all the paperwork for the rebate, making that part of the process very easy as well. Two thumbs up for All Bay Solar!

I contacted 4 different solar companies 2 lease and 2 purchase options. All Bay was the only one that I didn't feel I was getting the run around. From the beginning contact with DuWayne to my interaction with the final inspector everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and timely. My decision to go with All Bay rested on their amazing quote which was far lower than the other purchase option. The other company was able with ""incentives"" to match All Bay but I appreciated All Bay's honest and forthright approach up front.
