We've used Alden Roofing in the past and they did a fine job so, when a new problem appeared, we called them again. Mr Alden himself came out to make the quote. We were putting our house on the market and wanted everything fixed up well enough to satisfy a buyer's home inspector. Mr Alden made a reasonable quote for us. A few days later, he contacted us again. Just to be extra cautious, he wanted to also give us a quote for the whole roof to be replaced. He advised us to wait to see what the inspector's comments were before we paid Alden Roofing to do any work, just in case the results from the lower bid wouldn't be enough to satisfy the buyers. The reason being, he didn't want us to waste our money on the small job only to then be told that the buyers insisted on a whole new roof. We gave both of his quotes for repair to our agent. As it turned out, we didn't need to do either job, the buyer was satisfied with things as they were. Mr. Alden got paid for nothing at all and we wasted no money at all. That is the reason why I am writing this positive review. THANKS, Mr. Alden- not every businessman will tell you to not pay for what you don't need!

When the Hurricane Harvey came, we were awakened by multiple water drippings from the ceiling in our bedroom. We had to place many bucket, pans, whatever we can find to avoid more damage to our furniture. Daylight came, I started to call different companies and because of damages that Harvey caused, many companies are booked. Alden Roofing did answer answered my prayer and told me they will fit me in between all the other appointments.
They came during the little time that rain stopped and fixed the problem. Bonus point, without asking they even check for other possible entry for the future leak and sealed them up, since there are many more days of rain we will get.
I highly recommend them for their professionalism, affordability, and quick response.

This is a rating for a hole in the roof caused by squirrels that apparently lived under my roof.

They were responsive, friendly and they came out quick. Problem nowadays in the Austin area is that many do not show or respond. I guess a problem of supply and demand. I cannot rate the quality of the work they have done because it is on the roof where I cannot see it. I assume they did a good job. Time will tell.

Now the reason I only gave them two stars.

They charged me $1360 for 2.5 hours of work with litte material used. I find that excessive and feel greatly overcharged. I tried to discuss the pricing with them and they think the price is adequate.

9 years ago, apparently just for hail season, Alden had an office in the Denver area. It doesn't look as though they are in Colorado anymore, but I would not recommend them outside their service area. I don't know how they are in Texas, but they did a horrible job on my roof after a major hail storm here. Use a roofer within your own area who uses the same crews regularly. I learned this the hard way. Even though Alden was known by my insurance adjuster, they were probably known for their work in Texas.
The lowdown: They didn't put in enough vents. They did a crappy job of flashing, to the point that I had leaking and warping on my soffits all around the house. And, they didn't finish a connection that wasn't discovered until I had an energy audit a couple years later. They sent a local contractor to fix that when I called, to their credit, but it shouldn't have been missed in the first place. My guess is that they hired people who had no roofing experience and didn't supervise them or train them properly. They also took a lot longer on the job than was necessary. I now have a basis for comparison, as we had another big hail storm this year, and i used a local company. Once they came, they were done in one day with the roof, communicated well, showed me that they knew what they were doing. Like night and day. Perhaps Alden learned a lesson as well and is staying put in their home area now.

I pulled into my garage and noticed a big wet spot on the ceiling from all the rain. I called Alden at the recommendation of a friend and within an hour, Shawn was at my door and up on my roof in the rain! He pinpointed the leak and was able to tarp it up to stop further damage until the rain stops and the repaired can be made. He was super thorough and professional. I appreciate the quick service and will definitely be using them when we replace the roof.

The beginning of the process was great,until the actul work began. We were told the work would start on a certain day and it didnt start until a week later. They didnt have the correct material to finish the job and its been over 2 weeks and we received no calls to update us on progress of finishing the job unless we call and talk to 3 different people to find an answer. Very unprofessional. Find somone else to fix your roof.
