Worst experience EVER! The company's customer service is beyond terrible! Scheduled 2 jobs on 2 different houses, mine and my daughters. They did not do what their salesperson promised and was on the contract. Wanted us to pay his workers additional cash for what was written in the contract, the Charlie ""one of the owners"" showed up and told me after i threatened to throw them off my property, that they fired the salesman because he was screwing up jobs that he contracted. And he was trying to get customers to pay him cash after he was fired. Also told me not to accept any calls from the salesperson because they have contacted the police about him. I reluctantly allowed them to finish the job. They left the job with trash littering the yard that they didn't pick up, nails all over the yard and driveway, just has to patch another tire because it found a nail i missed, then 2 weeks after the job....... the salesperson showed up at the house to collect payment! I advised him of everything Charlie said about him, and of course he was at a loss for words. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!

See Ashley D review. We are the other home that was done. The company does not seem to be run well. When management tells you they fired your sales person and not to give them any money, but then sends that fired employee to collect payment there is something not quite right going on. I would be careful should you decide to use them. The sales person tells you one thing and then owners tell you sales person has no idea what they are talking about. Get many estimates and do your research.

THIS ENTIRE JOB/COMPANY WAS A NIGHTMARE! IF YOU ARE THINKING OF USING ALAN'S STOP! We received numerous estimates throughout the process of purchasing 2 new roofs on both my parents, and my own home.. The salesman who came out to do the estimates for Alan's at both houses was very nice and very informative. They were supposed to be demo-ing the chimney at our house and adding ridge vents to my parents home as well. We went with Alan's over other local companies because they were scheduling a lot sooner than others. They came and did my parents home first - and it seemed to have gone well until we noticed that they did not do the ridge vents - and when they were called and notified of this, they said it wasn't something they do and blamed it on the salesman, with no apologies. I also want to note that there was little to NO communication from Alan's.. When doing my parents house, they didn't even call to tell us that they were coming to do the roof - they just showed up one day.. After almost 2 weeks of not hearing about when they would come to do my roof (they were booked at the same time, so I assumed it would have been a back-to-back job), we were informed that they would come out on a Monday to start.. They dropped the dumpster off in our drive way and left - they did not come out to start the roof.. Same thing with the next day.. no roofers but a giant dumpster blocking my driveway.. When the roofers did finally show up - it was a NIGHTMARE. Our invoice specifically stated ""demo 16x16 chimney"".. I get a knock at my door and it was one of the owners, Charlie (very rude) He informed me that we were supposed to have the chimney removed before they started going the roof. I informed him that this was incorrect and he told me ""Listen, I can have my guys remove it for you if you want to throw them like $150..."" I was shocked and honestly didn't know what to say. I then showed him a copy of my invoice that stated to demo the chimney and he said ""the salesman doesn't know what he's talking about - we don't demo chimneys"". He then told me ""we'll demo it for you, but I am not responsible for any bricks going through the interior walls in your home"" - and the way he said it was extremely condescending and rude. I am a young woman, and I believe they thought they would take advantage of my ignorance when trying to get me to give him and his workers cash on the spot. I did what any young woman would do and called my father. I felt extremely uncomfortable being home alone while they were attempting to do this. We had just moved into this home the weekend prior to the installation, and had just put together brand new patio furniture that was covered under our patio.. I then look out the window to see all of his workers laying/sitting on my brand new covered patio furniture, getting the cover filthy ( I will attach a photo) - my father then comes over and has a discussion with Charlie that I was not apart of and Charlie stated that they would close off the chimney instead of demoing it. At this point, whatever - i just want these awful people off my property. This was the first day - when packing up for the day, one of the workers asked if he could leave his truck at my property since he would be back the next day - I reluctantly agreed.. and I am upset that I did. They were at my home for 3 days - and his truck did not move out of my yard for 4 days (he left it at my home even after the job was done. They finalized the job, and all of the workers left - and he left his truck at my home AGAIN (he finally moved it after I threatened his co-worker to have it towed).. After they left - I took my dog outside to find NUMEROUS nails / cigarettes / shingles / garbage littered throughout my yard, walkway, driveway (what I found in a quick 2 minute scan of my property) Immediately, my husband calls Charlie to complain about the mess that was left and Charlie stated that he would send someone out the next day to clean the yard. The next morning, a man who didn't work on the roof at all showed up to clean my yard, and he was very nice! The owners take no accountability for their business, and like to throw their employees under the bus - simple bad business. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ALAN'S!

Had my roof done 9 months ago. After the hurricane that came by I noticed a leak in my living room. Gave them a call, and my original salesmen came to check it out. Come to find out it was my A/C the drain was clogged. He asked me if I had a shop vac and he then sucked the clog out of my drain. Saved me a $80 service call that's customer service.

We made the decision to get a roof from Alan's Roofing. Worst decision ever. We're very dissatisfied. Very poor and careless service. We could never recommend them based on our experience.

My issue is not with the work they did but the customer service and extra charge. Rudy( salesman ) was all sweet when I signed the contract. He explained that ANY costs above the quote would be clearly discussed with me before they proceeded. But once the ink was barely dry, he became rude and condescending in his manner. He would delay in returning my calls and would never give a direct answer when you did speak with him. My husband gave them the ok to for an additional $100. I get the bill after the job was done for an additional $1500!!!! We were told, ""Oh there was more damage then we expected."" The damage to the roof was CLEARLY visible with what needed to be replaced/repaired. In addition, they took NUMEROUS pictures. Unsure of why they state it was a ""surprise to see more damage"". We also had a delay as Alans pulled the wrong permit and the city caught them. The city made them stop the work to get another permit as well as have a structural engineer come to our home. I sent them a certified letter that I was NEVER informed of the additional cost of $1500. I requested NOT to be contacted by Rudy and wanted something showing I agreed to the additional amount. What did I get? A notice with intent to file a lien on my home! No response. No call. I left voicemail last night asking for a call back. Steve called me and left me a voicemail. ( I was at work ) and stated ""we do this all the time"".There is nothing to discuss, pay us in 10 days or we place a lien on your home. This is obviously a well rehearsed ploy to take advantage of people. Avoid this company at all costs or YOU will be the one with additional COST!

The prior homeowner used Alan's to replace the roof in 2013. We moved in months later. Since that time we've had four leaks. The roof is covered by a warranty, although the last Alan's representative seemed hesitate to honor it. It's difficult to get a representative on the phone and they are are equally slow to resolve the issue. We plan on taking our business elsewhere once he warranty expires. Overall, their work is subpar and the customer service is horrible. I would not recommend.

Roof was finally installed on March 9, 2016. No one from the company followed up with me for quality assurance or satisfaction and when I was finally contacted by the company, they were calling for remittance of final payment. I let them know that a couple of the shingles weren't laying down and the contractor told me that it would take three weeks for them to lay down. I let him know that's great, because it's already been three weeks since the install. Contractor was supposed to show up by 6pm that evening to fix the issue and receive payment. I waited until 7pm for him to show up and then had some errands to run. When I returned, I found the bill attached to the front door with comments on it saying ""possible nail pop"". I figured they were going to fix it and I didn't follow up with them. I was contacted on 4/13/16 asking for payment. I let him know that the issue had still not been resolved and he let me know that he would be there by 6pm that evening. Contractor showed up at 6pm asking for the check. I let him know that he needed to resolve the issue with the shingle. He went up on the roof and tried to nail it down. He let me know that it's purely cosmetic and not structural. I'm not used to shotty work being done for me and I expect things to be done correctly. He said that he would go back to the office and put in a workorder to get it fixed, but would require the check immediately. I was told by the sales guy that I would not have to pay until I was satisfied with the job and I kindly let him know that he can have the check once the issue was resolved. The contractor wasn't having it and said that the only way he would fix it is if I pay them first. He then instructed me that if I didn't pay immediately, he would put a lien against the property and that I would be responsible for all legal fees associated with it. I am fully willing to pay for the work and I've had the check ready in hand for almost a month now, but I need it fixed. Contractor kept saying it's a warranty repair. To me a warranty means if something goes wrong after the work has been completed; however I don't believe the job to be completed until both sides agree that the work has been finished. I would not recommend Alan's Roofing and I will not be using them for any of my other properties. It's sad that a company would risk bad publicity over something so simple to fix. They have left a bad taste in my mouth and I wish I would have gone with Total Home Roofing or Collis Roofing.

Sales rep Todd is a smooth-talking liar and took advantage of 80 year old senior citizens! He spent more than hour at my house talking with me and my wife and showed me a superior underlayment and gave me price quote for the indestructible product. I agreed and signed contract for installation.

I waited a month before they showed up to my house to install. After many phone calls, he always had a different excuse why they were behind on their jobs. Finally they showed up unannounced a full month later to do the job.

On the day of the job a different product was installed and now the company refuses to adjust price and says it is my mistake and that I ordered the basic underlayment! How could I have ordered the basic underlayment when I was never even shown the basic underlayment. He showed me the upgrade! This is classic bait and switch!

Now Todd claims that I ""don't remember"" what I ordered. My wife and I were here with him, and we both saw the product he demonstrated, and we both agreed on it. How despicable of sales rep Todd to characterize us as not remembering because we are senior citizens.

On the day of the install, I had an appointment and I was not aware that the installers used a different material as I was not at the house. Upon coning home I find out that the installation was not the correct underlayment. After calling the sales rep he claims that I never ordered the better underlayment and that this was my mistake. The material installed was never shown to me and was not what I ordered. I complained and he states that since I signed a contract there is nothing I can do.

Stay away from Alan Roofing and especially their sales rep Todd spent.

How could he spent more than an hour in my home showing me a superior roofing product, then I spent over a month calling him and waiting for the roofing installation ,and now the product installed was not what I paid for and it is my fault? Could it be that perhaps, the subcontractors picked up the wrong materials and now you want to cover your @ss and keep your commission????

We were impressed from the time we got the estimate. We needed a whole re-roof and looked at 3 local roofing companies for estimates. One was extremely overpriced, one never got back to us, and Alan's Roofing left us feeling like old friends. Lawrence came and got the measurements, listened to our concerns and needs, and then left to crunch numbers. He returned in a timely fashion a with a figure that we found quite adequate.

When the work began, the crew moved at the speed of light. Well, maybe not quite that quick but in 1 hour they had removed 50% of our old roof. Everyday they left the site clean and neat. The finished product looks amazing (we chose a slate grey flat style Spanish tile) and we are thoroughly pleased with the people at Alan's Roofing and their work. So, if you are looking for a roofer in the Central FL area, give these guys a call.
