Airtight Construction Inc. stems from a long-standing family tradition in the roofing industry since the 1950s. Dennis, the firstborn of three brothers, is the son of Bob W. Jones, the owner of Bob Jones and Sons, Inc. Dennis was introduced to the roofing industry at 12, mentored by his father, uncle, and other Jones family members. He and his father embraced the challenge of diversifying and adapting to the changing construction landscape.

Reflecting his enterprising spirit, Dennis established multiple businesses, including Division 7 Consulting, Allspec Sheet Metal, and Elegant Gutters. His dedication to community involvement has prompted him to join the boards of a Christian education trust and a school for special needs students. Above all, he values his family. In 2014, he marked 30 years of marriage with his wife, LaRae, who is a special education teacher and his business marketing partner. Their family includes two daughters: LaRen, who graduated from Saint Mary's College and works as a manager at Nordstrom, and LaRisa, a student athlete at UC Berkeley.

Some asshole in an ATC ""Airtight Construction"" pickup truck was talking on his cell phone (holding it up, like somehow that is ""hands free"") while driving in traffic, in the rain, and pulled into a left turn lane. When the light for the left turn turned red before he could go through, he cut back over the right, completely cutting off a disabled person, then proceeded to cut across all the lanes of traffic, still talking on his phone, in the rain, in traffic, without any regard for anyone else's safety. What a POS. I'd give zero stars if I could. I will never use this company and I would recommend that anyone who cares about the safety of others not use this company either.

Ken from Airtight Construction came out to look at my project. Said he would get a quote back to me in a few days. A week passed and he said he was going to mail it that night. Another week has passed and nothing. Avoid these flakes.

OMG!!! Stay as far away as you can from these guys. !!! Very shady when trying to collect payment. Tried to charge me 3% for using a credit card!!!! Really. No one does this!!! Very sloppy workers. Left nails and staples all over front and back yards and garage. I had to clean up after them every day!
With so many reputable roofers out there, DO NOT call these guys!!!

I contacted Airtight Construction after the last major storm to hit the Bay Area in early March 2016, it was late one Saturday night and my roof sprung a leak and water was running into the house. They answered the call and said they would have someone out that next day. So far I am feeling good about them- great customer service and hopefully great personal contact as well. Sunday someone shows up and says he found a few leaks and that he could patch them up. HE would send an estimate to me in a few days. Great. So it after a few days I get the estimate, high for a patch job but what do I know, so I say yes, schedule the work. Or I attempt to schedule the work. All of my texts and phone calls go unanswered or responded to. NOTHING just silence for over a week. Finally one day that I just so happen to had taken the day off from work I hear a knock on my door and it is a group of roofers. I had no idea that they were coming, no warning that ATC had even scheduled my job. If I was not home would they had just attempted the fix without my knowledge and then billed me for work I didn't know was done? I was confused. So after 30 minutes they leave, no words to me about yes, we fixed this or not. I get a call later from someone saying that the roofers didn't have the correct flashing for my roof so would have to return. So after a few days I get a request for payment, but I never received an invoice and had to go on their word that the roof was fixed since I was not home the day or days the roofers returned and couldn't get a response from ATC on how the work was going or not.
So forward to a few weeks later and more rain and another leak in the SAME spot that the other leaks were- the leaks that were supposed to have been fixed. OK, how do you patch one area and miss the other leak right next to it? I am not a roofer so I guess such can be done, it is just suspect to me. As I am in the process of selling my house my realtor decided to contact the company on my behalf and after leaving a few messages heard back from them saying they would come out and check the roof again. They did and said it would cost me another $1500 for the work, work right next to the work they did just weeks before. At this point I think I am moving my business to a new roofing company- one that returns phone calls and communicates all aspect of the job openly and clearly and hopefully will do a complete job.

We contacted ATC during a horrible storm in mid December. I was SO IMPRESSED they came right out within an hour. I thought to myself wow, this is great! Well it's been over 6 months with more calls than I can remember and I CANNOT get them to call me back or finish the job.

I don't like leaving bad reviews as I too am a business owner but people have to be warned. They have not stopped the leak in the skylight and roof and now the sheet rock at the ceiling is rippled and looks horrible, the worst part is that even in the slightest rain it continues to leak. In addition, we had some dry-rot in our beams that extended out. They sawed them off like a poached rhino horn and I can't get them to give me a quote on how to retrofit them as the look effects the whole theme of our A framed house. I managed to get a hold of one of the employees twice and he's come out but they won't seem to give me a bid or attempt to finish the job.

The whole experience was weird. They started the job installing these ugly safety hooks so that they can cable in since our roof is very steep. They started cutting the beams and clearing out the debris in the shakes and worked on our house for over a week without any kind of contract or bid. We kind of went with the flow because his business is close to ours and we had done some work for him so we figured it would be okay. We finally had to ask them to stop working until we had a formal bid as we had no idea what it was going to cost. Over $4K later we still have a leak and snub nosed beams.

I called and left a message asking if he just no longer wants to do business with us or if he was just a typical contractor that gets the job on the hook and then keeps you hanging indefinably.

One of the things that really makes me wonder is that they worked on our roof/beams for about 10 days and the one day I ask them to stop working so we can all get on the same page regarding the work being done, cost and expectations was the day we got broken into. I am by no means saying they or their employees were involved it but that is the last time they worked on our house and seems very odd that they will not finish the job or return my calls.

I have not received a return call and had to move on to another roofer.

terrible, terrible, terrible, company to do business with, we own a family flooring business and we did a job for these guys and never got payed. they were payed for our work and kept the money. nothing like screwing a family business out of their hard earned work and taking it from another family. i dont know the values that these guys father taught them but it was obviously how to screw subs out of there money. highly dont recommend these guys. we have called them several times and they just lie to us and say ohh yeah were sending it. anyone who uses a answering service and a p.o. box for their business should throw up a red flag. i hope this helps someone else not get screwed out of a paycheck
