Very happy with our renovations. Mike and his team gutted and renovated condo including hurricane impact windows and doors

I would highly recommend Advantage Building and Roofing. Mike the owner was on point with replacing my entire roof in a timely fashion. I got 3 estimates and his was the most reasonable. He was very informative every step of the way! I give him and his crew 5 stars!

Great roofing company. Mike and his team replaced my roof in west Boynton. They were very professional under budget and on time. Highly recommend them for any roofing project

He had never finished our job. Demanded a ""partial"" final payment- so I paid him $2k. We have a final date scheduled for him to clean up the messy job his ""guns for hire"" crew did on March 12th. I even scheduled time off work for those dates so I could be here because I do not trust him at my property without me being here.
He just filed a LEIN against me, when we have a scheduled date to complete and for him to get paid? PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE. This man has threatened me and has harassed me. His ONLY interest is getting paid. He DOES NOT care about the quality of his product. My roof is still not complete and he has put a lien against my property.

We used Mike Sterrett owner of Advantage Roofing when we needed a new roof. This was two years ago when we first came to Boca. Our mistake was to have the work done while we were in our Northern home during the summer. We should have been here. It took months before the job was completed.
During the first summer shortly after installation our house sitter called to tell us our new roof leaked on the new furniture and flooring in one of our guest bedrooms, the ceiling was also falling down. So we contacted Mike and he sent his guys. He then partially blamed us for the amount of damage saying, ""...if you lived here full time you would have noticed it sooner."" Imagine, it was our mistake that a brand new tile roof leaked. We thought that unbelievable and when we came down to see the damage and additional repairs, we still were in disbelief that this happened. After much back and forth his guys did a nice job on the repair. Then during another rain storm we spotted another leak in an entirely different location, his guys came to check it our twice and finally to repair it. They never did return to repaint or 'bleach' the ceiling, but the painters we hired for other work did that for us.
When we first noticed a few plants damaged and some items missing or damaged, Mike said to send him a bill and he would take care of it. It only amounted to about $425 or so. Guess what, Mike after repeated requests for that promised reimbursement never paid it. Still waiting for that money.
The reason I am writing this so after the fact is that we were incensed when Mike recently had the audacity of sending an email solicitation to all contacts in our community who he had done previous work for. He was telling everyone now his company was installing windows and doors. Stupidly he sent us such an email, I am close to replying all and telling the group to be careful about using Mike.
We never liked the look of the roof job with the enormous amount of 'cement' used to connect certain tile connections. We also did not like the messy construction of sloppy cement overlapping many of the tiles, even Mike's workers (the full time repair team) agreed with us.
Mike's only answers are, our roof has difficult pitches and he cannot please everyone. Then don't bid on the job.
I suggest you do not get too excited about Mike's low prices, because he bids his roof jobs out to others, to maximize his profit, he searches for the lowest bid possible, you get what you pay for.
We would never use Mike again, unless his wonderful roof leaks again.
