The above review seems right on target for the owner. They had given me a bid on my roof which was 25% higher than all the others. We ultimately decided to not re-roof our home as we were going to remodel a bathroom instead. A few months later she shows up at my work and asks how we like our new roof. Confused I asked what she meant. She said her husband drove by my home and saw we had a new roof. I kindly told her if her husband thinks my 25 year old roof looks new, he passed by the wrong house (which is weird since I live in a small cul-de-sac) or needs to have an eye exam.
Yeah, very bizzare...

What a nightmare,
This company does NOT know how a business is run. I got the reference from a friend...and perhaps they had a good experience with these people, but my experience was bizarre and insulting.
The crew arrives around 8am, which is punctual. There was a few minutes of banging. They had two workers and the supervisor working...and I was present throughout the entire time they were there. When I went back inside my home, after about 40 minutes, I realized the working commotion had ceased. I venture outside to see what was the status of my roof...and there was no one to be found. Were they done? Did they go on break? They were present at my home for no more than 45 minutes in total. Wow, they must work quickly. However, I would have preferred an acknowledgement of their completion considering I was present. I called them and a woman answered - I asked if they were done and told her they were only here for 40 minutes and left without saying a word or even leaving a bill. She said if they left, they must have been done. OK...
Several weeks later, I get a bill in the mail for a total of 6 hours of labor equaling 3 hours of two laborers...and then I was a bit confused. There was no possible way these people were here for 3 hours. As a normal concerned customer would do, I proceeded to attempt to call them...and left two messages with their staff. No return calls. I don't have time to call them over and over so I figured they would call me about the bill and at that time, I could ask why I was being charged so many hours for 40 minutes of work.
Several weeks passed and I never heard a peep from them. While picking up a birthday cake for a friend of mine right after work, I received a phone call from a woman stating, ""I am in front of your house. Come answer the door."" I was shocked and a bit confused of who this person was. I asked who she was and inquired why she was at my home. She said she was from Adair roofing and I needed to come outside. I told her that I was coming home from work and am not there to answer the door. I questioned her as to why she was at my door unannounced. She said she wanted to get paid. I was greatly concerned that a stranger was at my door, when no one is home, insinuating I am hiding out inside. I dropped what I was doing and went home to meet her.
When I arrived, an older woman, apparently, one of the owners...perhaps the wife, was there to greet me? I invited her in from the heat despite my concerns of why she was at my door unannounced. I asked her why she did not call first and she said she did call - she called me a few minutes ago. Nonsense. I told her my concerns about the bill and asked why I was being charged the amount that they claimed I owed. She said that if the worker said the job took 3 hours, it took 3 hours. I told her I was here the entire time and there is no way it was 3 hours. I even reminded her of my confused call after the workers left without a word after such a short time. She was very defensive and rude. She then called the worker on site to ask whether their men where on the site for 3 hours or for the 45 minutes I claimed. The worker admitted they were not on my property for about 40 minutes!!!!
At this point, her story switched and she now claimed the extra 4.5 hours was for travel time from the ""yard"" to my house. I asked her where the ""yard"" is - is it in Riverside in bumper to bumper traffic? Why am I being charged 4.5 hours of travel time??? I reminded her that her business address is in Orange - the very city my house is in. She had no answer and then told me that I am a bad person for accusing her of dishonesty. I told her that I am not accusing anyone of anything but it is logical for me to question the excess hours on the bill. I deserve an explanation and to the extent the explanation makes sense, I would obviously pay the bill. She then began personally insulting me and I was getting pretty upset with the whole situation and I just wanted this crazy woman out of my house. I agreed to pay the amount they asked...despite their admission that it was inaccurate.
And to top it all off...upon her departure from my home, I handed her the check for the full 6 hours. She said ""I don't mean to insult you but I found this here."" She hands me penny. I looked at her completely confused and I said ""why would I be insulted by you handing me a penny?"" She said ""I don't know, perhaps you would think I came here to take it."" I started laughing and walked away as she is clearly mentally unbalanced. I told her to leave my property. I've thought about the odd penny exchange since - and I think it was some bizarre effort to insult me.
All I can say is WOW. What a terrible experience. It hasn't rained since the repair, hopefully the roof doesn't leak to add insult to injury. One star is too good for them
*Side note: No mention of minimum charged hours per job.
