I hired Ace Roofing East Bay to replace our old (flat) roof on a single-family residence, install a skylight and a ceiling fan, and waterproof standoffs for solar panel installation. Teddy was excellent about communication and patient with the solar panel installers who he had to coordinate with. The crew worked fast and kept the area clean. Overall, my experience with the company was great, so I would heartily recommend them.

I had Ace Roofing East Bay replace our 20-year old tar and gravel roof with a Bitumen roof. I am very happy with their work. They showed up on time with a large crew and completed the job in the timeframe quoted. Teddy the estimator gave me a free quote and was very responsive in answering my questions. Their quote as reasonable compared to the other quotes I received.
Once the job started, the workers arrived timely and were very friendly and professional. The foreman Gabrielle kept things moving and communicated well with me. The owner Jeff stopped by to check on the job as did Teddy. Afterwards they came back when I thought there was a leak. Their roofer Raul crawled under the staircase and took a video of the leak source. It was coming from a drain under the foundation. They went the extra mile to discover this and I'm very appreciative. I have already recommended them to another friend.

I would recommend Ace Roofing East Bay. Their prices were reasonable compared to other companies. They really did a great job and i have no complaints. One of the things i was impressed with was how the place was kept so clean. The ground was swept each day and not a trace of debris was left.
I've met with both Teddy and Gabriel and found them to be professional and trustworthy.
I also want to note that I had some small amount of painting to be done. Teddy was willing to do the work with no cost. Gabriel later came a few days after the project was complete to do some touch up work on the trim.
These guys were willing to go the extra mile to do a great job.

Zero Star!

We hired ACE Roofing East Bay (ACE) to re-roof our parents' house in San Francisco. Teddy was the estimator and the person of contact since Day 1. We decided to go with ACE Roofing East Bay because the quote was in the middle. We have had much lower and higher quotes. ACE is a relatively young roofing company and based on our conversation with Teddy and past Yelp reviews, it appeared to be a reliable company to work with. Boy we regret our decision hiring this company! The re-roofing project was done by unskilled workers with bad workmanship putting the house in a vulnerable state and ACE refuse to take responsibility for their mistakes!
The day after the project was completed (Fourth of July weekend 2023), we noticed many soft spots with grainy material under and air bubbles which were formed throughout the new roof. We contacted Teddy about these issues. Teddy said ""the bubbles were already there upon completion of the project."" Fast forward, on Labor Day 2023, Teddy sent two workers along with the project supervisor-Gabriel to fix the bubbles and the soft spot issues. Gabriel cut open four different areas of the roof and all these areas were not torched down. And one of these four areas the supporting wood structure was soft and need to be fixed/replaced before laying down any new roofing material. The areas with issues are extensive and throughout the entire roof and at that time we requested a complete re-do. Gabriel took many photos and said Teddy would get back with us. A week later, we received an email from Teddy stating that he withdrew himself from our roofing project. We then contacted the owner Jeffrey Jun. Jeffrey did come by with his founding partner-Alberto sometime later. Both Jeffrey and Alberto stated that the soft spots and bubbles are normal for this type of torched down roof. Alberto started pin-pointing roofing issues on our neighbors' roofs and thereby dodging the real issues, which are on our parents' house roof. I then showed him photos of our family member's roof (a different house.) That house was re-roofed 5 years ago by a different roofing company- smooth, bubble free, no soft spots, the seams were aligned and a very neat professional job. Jeffrey promised he will take care of things for us but has since stopped answering our phone calls and email. So forget about the 8 years warranty ACE promises you, right off the bat, they just want your money and they are done. ACE Roofing East Bay, you guys should not be in business.

I'm so happy I settled on Ace. After a few interviews with other roofers, they did everything right, right from the initial inspection, findings, recommendations (chimney was crumbling) and pricing. He took a lot of photos of what they saw needed done up there. The crew did the recovering, etc. in a couple days and did an excellent job. The installed more efficient gutters, and when torrential storms came about 5 months later and water backed up and came inside a wall, causing bubbles under paint in bathroom, they came right over a day later and added one more drainpipe to gutter on each side, letting it drain faster in a deluge. No charge! Excellent, professional, local company. At least have them come to inspect your place to compare with other outfits. I think Teddy did the inspection here.

I had a very bad leak from skylight in kitchen on Saturday Dec 31, 22, the next day was Jan 1st and most of roofing companies were close, and would not answer any calls. On Monday I tried again and called many companies, but all but Ace Roofing either did not pick up their phone, their voice mail was full so I could not leave any message, or in few cases someone answered the phone and got my information and told me they will get in touch with me later, and when they got back they gave a far date in future like Jan 11 for coming to give me estimate. In one case he wanted to come and temporary fix the problem, and come back later on to permanently fix it, but he wanted me to pay for his service twice.
Only Ace Roofing East Bay answered my call, and made the appointment for early morning next day, They showed up on time, took picture of problem and showed it to me, gave me a reasonable price to fix it, then fix the leak in about an hour. If they had not show up and fix the leak I am sure this rainy season would be a terrible season for me, and would cause a lot of damage to the building.
I waited few days to make sure there is no more leak before I give them my review on how great they are in doing their job, and responding properly to my situation.

I would strongly recommend Ace roofing Eastbay. We required new roofing and vent modifications prior to having solar installed. We obtained five separate estimates (and quite surprisingly they were all within about 5% in terms of total cost). With set Teddy's estimate apart was the level of detail in terms of identifying issues and breaking down the job components. He was also the most responsive and communicative of the five firms that we had initially contacted. When it came time to do the work, the crew was efficient and cleaned up impeccably at the end of every workday, and he provided detailed photos at the end of the job.
