I requested estimate online John chon replied via email stated he will go check the roof and give me estimate but days pass by no answer so I emailed him again ask did he check my roof and he said I haven't yet and then he wrote Sorry I am booked for this time . If he knew he was book and busy why the heck he said he will give me a estimate this is very unreliable company.

We requested Ace Roofing Company to repair a perennial roof leak which has plagued our building. Many attempts to repair it by others were abject failures. In these times, I have discovered professionalism and experience cannot be exchanged for quantitative actions that demonstrate an impoverished skill set. Ace was always on time and resourceful. They will complete their work and extend themselves beyond their promises.

After Ace Roofing completed a small but difficult new shed roofing project (that no other company we contacted would undertake because of restricted access to the roof beneath a deck and the insignificant size of the area to be covered). They did a good job on short notice because we needed help; pricing and coordination was very good.

Afterwards, I realized that an additional project was required - the rerouting of a broken house downspout that formerly ran through the old shed. This was not part of my original order with the company. Again, despite the tiny scale of the job, I spoke with John C on the phone and he agreed to help. I called in December when there was a lot of rain in San Francisco and Ace Roofing was very busy. We agreed that there was no urgency to my request and John said he'd come back in touch when things settled down after all the rush jobs were completed. About six weeks later, John sent a very capable, patient and careful roofer (name, Pakistan) to assess the job - he brought some downspout material hoping he could fix things right away.

Turned out there were specific parts (extra elbows and such) needed to solve our problem - but Pakistan didn't want to leave us with no downspout because rain was coming again. He ran a temporary above-deck downspout and said, once again, we'll see you after the storms. Indeed, after a couple phone calls reminding busy John C, Pakistan was scheduled to come back with required parts. He actually showed up a few days early in case we were home (we weren't), but then a few days later he returned, with extra supplies and a helper, and they completed what turned out to be a little bit trickier job then he or I anticipated - in about two hours.

Why am I providing all this detail? While I don't have any inside information, it seems to me that Ace Roofing is a smaller company which puts a lot of effort into managing limited resources in order to finish jobs that customers will appreciate. John C is a guy who works on ""the honor system"" who extends (and expects) honest communication, two-way trust and patience in solving problems. My example, a nuisance job that other roofers were not interested in doing, demonstrates that Ace Roofing is a good choice for handling problem situations even though there is not a lot of profit involved. I felt fine that he asked for my understanding about putting other customers ahead of me when their needs (leaky roofs over their homes) were more urgent.

I cannot review performance on a large or ""typical"" full reroofing job - that's not the service I needed at this time - but for the scope and nature of my requirement, once again Ace Roofing did a good job, cared about me as a customer, and - oh yeah - was very reasonable (even generous) about the price (because we waited so long). What a fair and capable company!

Very satisfied with the work John and his crew put in for our roof. It was easy to communicate all of the problems that needed to be addressed, and everything was taken care of in a timely manner. After everything was complete, all extensive and minor repairs for my roof were taken care of in a good amount of time. I will definitely come back for any future repairs and will recommend anyone to John and his crew.

I'm giving them [John] a minus -0. He was scheduled to look at water drainage and NEVER showed up or called. NOT very reliable. DO NOT USE THIS THEM !!!!

Scheduled an appt for Dec 14. Had to follow up because he didn't show up. 3 weeks later I get an email response sending me to someone else Camelot Roofing who doesn't answer the phone and mailbox is full. Don't bother with Ace Roofing. Zero service

Our roofing was pretty old and started leaking. Called John and he came right away and checked it out. He gave me a good price. I hired him and when he started he had 8 guys, ripped out the old roof and applied the néw roofing. They were fast and did a good job. Very professional and I would hire him again. Good service.

With a new roof being such a financial investment, you worry about choosing the right roofer because choosing the wrong one can be quite a costly mistake.

I spent a month during the Spring reaching out to roofers and getting quotes until I finally settled on Ace. The decision came down to the quality of their work, their price, and their warranty. One last factor is their availability. I never would've guessed that it may take 3-6 months after signing the contract before work actually starts. Luckily, Ace had an opening and was able to squeeze me in a couple of weeks.

Juan, the supervisor, and his crew were great to work. He kept me up-to-date on their progress and was able to complete the project faster than expected.

It all worked out for the best because no one would've guessed the Bay Area would be hammered by a storm in the late Summer. I was so concerned and was anticipating leaks, but the new roof held up.

Recently, my neighbors pointed out I was missing a chimney cap. I suspected the storm may've blew it off. I contacted Ace and they came out after a couple of days to replace it.

Personally, I had a great experience working with Ace and I think they should be considered for your next roofing project.
