Before we bought our HB cottage last July, our seller hired Absolut Roofing to put a new roof on the house and to seal what was a DIY roof-deck over the garage. Sweet. New roof. Not so fast. After the rains came this December, it became clear that the garage was not sealed. The ceiling leaks in at least three places, dumping rain water onto our new epoxy floor, fresh drywall and new cabinets. After many many many messages left, Absolut sent someone out to take a look, who told us that the leaking was being caused by the fact that there is a high railing around the roof deck. Huh? He said he could prove it by flooding the deck. When we told him to have at it, of course, he didn't have the right tools. Not sure what you need besides a hose, but okay. It has now been another month of leaving messages with no call back, no demonstrative flooding, and we appear to be stuck with a leaky roof. We have even had our seller's agent try reaching out to the owner but to no avail. Absolut Roofing - if your avoidance is purposeful, you should be ashamed of yourself. If you just have terrible customer service, I'm honestly not sure how you're still in business.

This company sold us a bill of goods. They sold us a roofing material with a 40-year guarantee. They used a very bad vendor who went out of business after 13 years, and now Absolut says they don't want to fix the roof they installed because the materials are defective and hard to work on. ""Call another roofing company,"" says the owner. Nice trick, huh? Promise the client a loooong warrantee on the product, then bail on the client after ten years labor warrantee term, leaving a bad product installed. Wow! Buyer beware!

This company installed a roof for me in 2006. The owner and salesman, Hogan, verbally assured us we would have a 25-year warranty -- on a very expensive roof, I might add. Well, 13 years later the roof leaks, a two man crew came to repair it, video cameras showed they spent 35 minutes on the job and left. The roof still leaks, they invoiced me $500.00 ($1,000 per hour), and now they don't return calls. We better hear from them soon or we will be seeing them in Small Claims Court.

I had a horrible experience with Absolut Roofing. They were supposed to be taking care of the roof in our condo. When I found mold in the wall that was caused by a leak in the roof, Hogan blew me off in a group e-mail, stating ""I had one of my best guys there and he does not think there is a roof leak in this apt."" He went on to say that the roof could use a good maintenance, but that he could not warranty anything and that it would likely not make a difference for me. A roof leak was subsequently found and Absolut just threw some roofing material with tar up there and had to come back to fix it because they did not pull a permit and had multiple areas that were not sealed.

Hogan and his crew did a great job on my Spanish tile roof:
- Replaced damaged fascia and eaves
- Replaced all underlayment and rotted plywood
- Replaced all broken Spanish tiles and replaced old cement bird-stops with Spanish tile bird-stops
- Coordinated with solar company to place tiles around solar panels

Great experience working with keen eyed professionals who made my Spanish tile roof look awesome with solar panels!!

Dave and his team have done an amazing job with our roof. With the heavy rains this year, we have had several leaks and it was time to replace our entire roof. Dave was knowledgeable of the roofing codes, honest, the price was very competitive, and most of all he was professional in completing the job on time but without rushing. He would come out to inspect the job regularly, was quick to respond to text messages and even work with us to personally repair some minor patches inside the house resulting from the roof repair. Thank you Dave for your exceptional work, and we are so confident this new roof will last us many, many years!

We used them to fix a small leak a month ago and after replacing underlay, it leaked at the same spot. Dave did not even come into the house to check where it leaked again. He said that we need to replace whole underlays of the entire roof because our roof's underlays are old and the water came from the break somewhere in the old underlay. He has not even checked where it leaked at this point and how does he know? Leaked spot is exactly the same spot where they replaced them several feet above, below, and both sides. There is no sign of leak above old leak, only from there directly below. He said that they will look at the leaked spot if they come back after we give them a new job to replace entire underlays. This means they will not do anything, even to check on the work they did. Protect yourself.

Highly professional company; very responsible employee's who arrived on time worked very hard and cleaned up every day leaving the area spotless and taking all trash with them. The entire job of taking the old roof off and putting up the new roof was completed in four days. Dave Leclercq was here every day followed up, took care of securing permits from the city and couldn't have made this any easier for us.

I would give these guys a 10 star, if possible. We've been dealing with a lot of contractors lately and continue to be disappointed. Hogan and his team we're always on time and did a great job. Would definitely recommend.

This company is the Absolut best. They installed my roof about 17 years ago. Had a small leak from the rain about a week ago, i called the office and was scheduled for the following day. Hogan came out and assesed the issue and it was taken care of the next day. No worries here when the weather gets a bit nasty. Wish more companies were like this.
