My wife and I bought a 1959 mid century modern home in North Tustin. This house need everything, especially a roof. The house had a 8-10 year old tar and gravel (T&G) roof that was in poor condition and needed replacement. We set out to determine which type of roof to replace it with, since we definitely did not want to put a T&G back on it. Finding the right roofing company want easy. We had a total of 4 bids. Some of the roofers seemed tentative to do such s low pitched roof, but gave a bid anyway. We decided to chose Above it all because they seemed confident, were punctual, flexible to our needs and tilmeline, and offers the best products and warranty. Once the work started, they again were professional and clean. We had very expensive gutters that had to be installed before the roof was put on, and they were very careful and did not damage them at all. The job foreman, Helio, ran a very tight crew and was a working foreman as well. He was excellent, even customized the drip metal size for us since our house was a one of a kind in that standard 4-inch metal was to small. He had 4-1/2-inch fabricated overnight and the job kept on schedule. After the roof was installed, the last process was application of the Gaco roof coating. This stuff was and is amazing! It is two coats applied by hand rollers. It ends up being at least 22 mile thick and creates one continuous me brands over your new roofing. When applied correctly as AIA did, there is no way water can penetrate it.

OK, now for the particulars. Here are the 5 layers of material that were applied to our roof starting at the bare wood. 2-inch ISO foam board, 7/16-inch OSB board, 1 layer of rolled cap sheet (2 in all valleys and low areas), 2 complete rolled layers of Gaco roof coating (at least 22 mils thick).

Since the roof was put on the house inside has changed dramatically. It is much cooler in the summer and the sound proofing is excellent. We live in the flight path to OC John Wayne Airporrt, and we experience the before and after noise. The after is much quieter. The change in temperature has to do with a few things. The insulation actor of the ISO foam board is R12and the Gaco coating is white for reflectivity and meets the ,California Title 24 requirement. And the best part about Gaco roof coating is that it is covered by a 50 year warranty! And, AIA gives a 10 year warranty on the roof itself and labor.

We also installed 5 Velux skylights. AIA did a perfect job preparing the openings and flashings, and then installing them after the Gaco coating was finished.

We have had 5-10 rainstorms since our new roof was installed. A few have been very heavy, at least an inch per hour. We haven't had a drop of water come into our house, garage, or covered lanai! As you collect your bids, definitely include AIA, and choose them! You will not be disappointed! And don't always take the low bid. They were not the lowest, but in the ballpark. You get what you pay for most of the time. And in this case choosing a little higher in price proved to be a winner for the most important component of the exterior of your house. Thank you Jay Gioia, Helio, Alex and the rest of the crew! You all did an amazing job for us!

Above It All Roofing is awesome! Don't be swayed by the two different one star reviews. It's kind of funny that both bad reviews mention that the previous owners (not the actual reviewer) were the ones that paid for the new roof and now they are upset that the warranty does not transfer to the new owner. As Mike (Above It All owner) said they can't be sure who was on the roof or what was done between owners so they can't guarantee the work. To me it seems totally reasonable that a warranty would NOT transfer after a house is sold. Please don't value those two bad reviews with the same weight as all the other 5 star reviews.

We had three different roofing companies out to provide us with quotes. Out of the three quotes Above It All was slightly higher than the cheapest quote but we decided to go with them anyway because they did not require any sort of down payment before they started and the other companies did. Mike (owner) and Scott (project manager) came out to provide the quote and I instantly felt at ease and could tell they both knew what they were talking about and I could tell they were both very experienced. My wife said she liked how our neighbors roof looked and with a quick glance they both were able to exactly identify the correct type and manufacture of shingles.

Our roof is somewhat odd and has two flat sections that always gave us issues. Scott and Mike recommended a silicone based material that is rolled on top of the flat rolled roofing sections. This was also a deciding factor for us as the other companies were quoting a cheaper ""hot mop"" option for the flat sections. The silicone material is white and will hopefully reflect a bit a heat in the summer. I am very happy that they recommended this as I was not aware that it was even an option.

Once we signed the contract they scheduled us for the week after Thanksgiving which was about a month out. But then they had their schedule open up and called to re-schedule for the week before Thanksgiving week. They arrived exactly on time every day and were very professional with their work. Our roof still had the old wood shingles under the current asphalt shingles so there was a lot of tear off work to be done which created a big mess. It was very nice to see how they were cleaning up throughout the day. It seemed there was always someone with a broom or leaf blower keeping the dust clear. I even noticed that they cleaned up my neighbors yard where some dust and pieces of wood had fallen.

In addition to replacing the roof we also had them add four new attic vents, and new kitchen exhaust vent and two new SolaTube lights. For the SolaTube lights I only had them install the flashing part that goes through the roof and I completed attic and inside work. I worked with the roofer directly on where I wanted everything placed and he was able to install everything right where I asked. We did have one slight miscommunication about who was connecting the kitchen vent in the attic but Scott responded immediately and had the roofer back out the following day to fix it.

Overall we were extremely happy with Above It All Roofing and would highly recommend using them to anyone needing roof work done.

I recently needed a new roof for my primary residence. I had a referral from my friend who was pleased after obtaining their services to fix a botched job on her own roof. Their Angie's list ratings are impeccable. They were amazing. Very professional, and completed the job in less time than they had quoted. Dave, the project manager, was truly outstanding! Every day, after their work, they cleaned up the entire yard and work area to assure that no extra nails or pieces of old roofing remained. They were respectful of my property and my neighbors. After the first 2 rains, I can report that there are no leaks. Their prices were reasonable, but the quality, outstanding! I would highly recommend them.

We needed to have some work done on our roof in quick order to refinance our mortgage. We turned to Jay and the Above It All team. Had our roof rebuilt, the old mission tiles saved and reused, new paper and sheeting. Jay was very helpful and the crew really did a great job. I must recommend them for follow through and flexibility.

I bought a house that they had recently replaced the roof on. While I was renting prior to buying they came out and and attempted to fix some leaks under warranty. Well it doesn't rain often in the desert so there is not much opportunity to test the repairs. I then bought the house and when I called due to continued leaks I was informed that they would not honor the warranty as it does not transfer when the house is sold. Tells you something about their customer service and how they take care of their customers. They did send someone out to try to sell me a new roof however. That'll be the day. Avoid...no sense of ethics.

I received several bids to replace my flat roof (which was in pretty bad shape), and I decided to go with Above It All because their price was very competitive and their reviews on Angie's List were amazing. Jay, the project manager, did an excellent job throughout the whole process, providing updates throughout the process and answering questions in a very timely manner. I couldn't be happier with the end result. Their name speaks for itself.

I have a few fascia boards around the roof need to be replaced. Got 3 estimations and decided to choose Above It All Roofing to do the job. Dave, the project manager and Mike, the owner, they both came to my house before and after the job completion. They listened to my concerns and gave me a few suggestions, and it works pretty well in the end.
The crews are very experienced workers and completed the project in half day. Their price is not the cheapest; it is between middle to high. But I would say they have done a quality job.
I'd like to thank Mike, Dave, and their team for the great job. I'll definitely recommend their service to others.

Above it All Roofing - Yes 5 Stars. My home needed 2 repairs -- 1) a ""Roof Tune Up"" which included replacing the Ridge caps, resealing & painting all vents & clean / clear rain gutters. & 2) my patio roof needed some repair work / leak repair.
The estimator (Jay) was at the house at the time he said. The price was way below what I'd received from 2 other contractors. The roofing crew was at the job at the agreed upon time & completed the job quickly including a quality clean up. I did notice an VERY small area on the patio roof the needed some attention & the crew promptly completed the job to 100% satisfaction. As a further testimonial --- Above it All has done complete roofs on my neighbors house .... complete roof at my Mom's house ..... AND they are going to begin another complete roof for another neighbor next week. 3 Roofs & counting ... & 3 100% satisfied customers. It simply doesn't get any better than that !!! FIVE STARS FOR SURE !!!

Dave and his team were very professional, fair, prompt, responsive, and really nice. They did a complete roof tune up and a few other bells and whistles . They were flexible in defining the scope of work to meet what I really needed. No high pressure sales - just helpful info about the various services they could provide and why they made sense. Clean-cut, articulate, smart guys - I was really impressed and highly recommend them!
