My experience with Chris was very pleasant. From the moment I made an appointment with him till the work was done. He came on time and gave me an estimate for replacing my 40 year old roof with the best price compared to two other companies who came out earlier. I will definitely recommend this company to anyone.

A-1 Roofing finished replacing my entire roof on 01/15/2014. I was unable to check the job they had done because I had a stomach cramp. Office lady Sue agreed that I pay off the bill on the following day.
The boss Yong Ha showed up on time to collect the payment and told me to call him if anything wrong in the future.
On 01/22/2014, I found some oversized nails sticking out on my entrance ceiling. I call Yong Ha immediately. He came to check it out right away and send two workers out to trim the nails down on the next day.
I am very pleased with their service and I believe if there is any other problem in the future, they will take care of it.
A-1 Roofing's workers have great attitude. The foreman answered my questions with patience. They clean up the floor really good every day before going home.
As of now, the only thing I do not know of is how long the roof will last and whether the roof will be leaking or not when it rains but at this time I think they deserve a 5 STARS review.

It has been 4.5 years, my new roof has no problems at all. 2018.06.28.

Worst experience ever. I asked for an estimate on a skylight in my bathroom, to replace an old broken skylight. The guy who barely spoke English told me he was going to take a look at the old skylight and call me. I was quoted $500. I came home that day and the skylight was replaced with an old-fashioned aluminum skylight. No one called to ask me for a type of skylight I wanted, they just replaced it. I hate going to my own bathroom now - it is freezing, and there is constant cold air blowing through the three old-school glass panels. I now have to have this travesty removed and spend another $500 on a new simple vinyl skylight installed by a legitimate company. If I only knew I was going to spend $1000 on a skylight..Don't bother with these jokers.

Excellent communication throughout the whole process. Heavy accents and sometimes hard to understand but these were delightful people to work with - Clearly a company that takes pride in their work. Trickle down leadership certainly runs through Yong and his crew as they were extremely respectful of our neighbors' properties and left the surrounding areas cleaner than they were before.

VERY competitive pricing and came highly recommended by several friends in addition to Yelp. Quick to provide an accurate and competitive estimate, schedule work and get the job done. A-1 used top of the line materials and Yong was quick to offer advice on how to deal with water from and to neighboring roofs. I would hire Yong and his team without getting a second estimate any day - Very trustworthy. A-1 is an all around A+ in my book.

I had this company do a title 24 roof and gutters on my commercial building in Redwood City . They did an awesome job, very reasonable priced and due to delays in construction over one year later, they came back right away to complete the gutter work. You will be really pleased with their work. They definely stand behind their work and Yong Ha ( owner) is a man of integrity!!!

6 years ago, A-1 Roofing Company replaced the roof on a house we had just bought. I was new to SF and didn't know about Yelp reviews. At that time I would have given them 5 stars for the job they did: arrived promptly, very courteous staff, did a thorough job of repainting and cleaning up. Last week, because of what I thought might be inside damage from a roof leak, I called them back to inspect the spot in question. Frankly, I expected a reluctance, if not an argument from Yong Ha, who owns the company. After all, he did the roof 6 years ago. Without hesitation he came out to look, and then set up a water test of the area, even though he was confident that the job had been done properly. His crew came this morning and blasted the area with water. Result: no leaking. We were all happy that there were no problems with the roof, but as the crew was leaving, they assured me that if I suspected any other problems, they would come right back out and check it again. This is a company that stands behind its work.

I found this company when i needed a roof on my home, my old roof was leaking, i called 4 companines all of them either did not come out for a estimate, or were late on their appt. A-1 came out on a sunday and exactly on time. i dealt with the owner , he came and gave me a good estimate not the lowest or the highest, explained everything that he was going to do, and when i signed the estimate his company were out within a week and finished the job in 2 days, very clean when done with work, and the workers seemed very polite with me. Rain came 1 week later and no leaks!!!!! I would recommend to any one. Also looked on yelp for recommendation for this company and it worked to my satisfaction

They canceled an appointment 15 minutes before we were supposed to meet for an estimate. I was very disappointed because I was coming from the South Bay to San Francisco.

A few people recommended this company to me, and I cannot comment about their ability to fix a roof. I, personally, will not work with this company because they cannot hold an appointment, or respect my time.
