Company Overview

Professional Roofing and Waterproofing Contractor
Initially established in 1998 as A to Z Painting & Siding, we broadened our offerings and licenses to include Roofing, Waterproofing, and Residential Building in 2006, evolving into A to Z Custom Homes, Inc.. Additionally, we are known as A to Z Roofing & Waterproofing. With our comprehensive building knowledge, we can identify leak problems that many licensed roofers may overlook and address them effectively.

Having worked in his father's painting company and learned carpentry from his grandfather, Chuck quickly discovered his love for manual labor. At 22, he launched his own venture, focusing on painting, siding, soffit, fascia, and carpentry repairs. In the following 20 years, he developed his skills, underwent product training, and became licensed in roofing, framing, waterproofing coatings, and home building. As of 2020, he mainly concentrates on roofing and waterproofing coating applications, using his vast building expertise to find and fix leaks that most roofers miss.

I have used them for both commercial and residential. Both times they went above and beyond what was expected and were more than reasonable on pricing. Highly recommend using A to Z.

Absolutely thrilled with my new roof. This company has beyond amazing customer service as well. Everyone from the office staff to the roofers get 5 stars.
Done in a day and done earlier than I expected.
The crew cleaned up everything before they left and they were courteous.

We had roof damage at our home from Hurricane Matthew . Try getting a roofer after a storm . After calling several roofing companies and getting over priced estimates Chuck came out and gave us a fair price . They done a great job and the roof looks fantastic . After completion they came back and installed gutters . I had recommended several of our customers and all have been very satisfied with their new roof replacement . I would use A to Z Roofing again and would refer to anyone needing their service .

I contacted this roofing company because their advertising touted their work - and their relationship - with a well-respected fraternal organization in St. Augustine. The owner of the company came in person to give me an estimate and a sales pitch. But he acted irresponsibly and unprofessionally when it came time to schedule the work. He stalled, refused to be specific about appointment times. (I had to be home to provide access to do the repairs.) Then - out of the blue - his benighted crew showed up unannounced at 8 AM several days later. (Supervised by a guy with no teeth) He seemed confused about what work was to be done and could not produce a work order detailing the job. But - after I explained to him that I had other commitments that morning - he agreed to come back the next day at 8 AM. When he didn't show up, I called the owner - he pretended to be in a meeting - who refused to take my calls. Avoid these jokers like the plague...

In response to your response, I think it probably took more time for you to write that response and ""confirm"" things than it would have to just get us the mitigation report. The issue was that we were told we would receive something by someone in your company on the job site but when we followed up, we were told by someone else it actually wasn't included. Whether we saved money overall by going with your company or whether we paid half the roof cost due at the sale (all of which is irrelevant to this issue), it still seems that if one person speaks on behalf of your organization and says something will be done, other people should also honor it.
It's a nice roof. Just this part of the experience wasn't great (including this back and forth) and unfortunately our realtor probably won't use your company again and neither will we - all due to $90. Thanks for following up though. (Ps. Your quote was the more expensive quote.)

Initially they were prompt in providing an assessment and estimate for our roof repair. The issue followed once we committed to using them. They initially stated it would be about 2 weeks before they could fix the problem. I waited that long and when I didn't hear from anyone I called. I was told someone would contact me to schedule the repair ASAP. Again, no word for a week. I called again and expressed my frustrations. I was told someone would be there at 8 AM on a Sunday. Again, no one called or showed up. It's hard to understand how a company can operate this way. Don't waste your time

I had to have my roof replaced due to hurricane Irma. I signed with a to Z roofing After a neighbor recommendation. The roof was completed in January and is fine. There have been 3 problems. During the final stages of the install they worked on a Saturday when I was home. They took the skylights off at 9 o'clock in the morning and left them off all day. Cold and debris blew in all day long. At about 4 o'clock the crew started to re install the original skylights. I managed to convince them to stop, made a phone call and they stopped where they were. On Monday someone brought the correct skylights. I also had a leak around the fireplace and that also was patched.
But the reason they are not getting a good review is I paid them immediately. After, I went to clean up around the patio area and found a long Tar streak on my slider door. When I got a closer look at it there was actually a crack in the glass under the tar. I notified the company. They sent out their rep out who cleaned the tar off. They have refused to pay for the sliding glass door because they said it was hit by one Shingle. The slider is impact resistant and has withstood both Matthew And Irma.
I had my contractor look at it before it was cleaned off. He believed A ladder fell on it.
They also ripped 4 sections of my screen enclosure. I had just replaced the screen after Irma.
A to Z has not taken responsibility for the damage. The slider, Hurricane resistant, has finally been delivered at a cost of over $1300 not including Install. The screen enclosure was $400.
I recommend you find an honest company.
