Don't use A-Tex. Shady from the beginning. I hired them to do roof and they left materials on roof for months. When I called they said that they had already finished my roof, hadn't even started. They were also supposed to fix interior and never got around to it. Nick the manager told he that they wouldn't be able to fix interior for several months and then threatened to sue me because I refused to pay. He was rude and arrogant. I had to get an attorney for them to finish. My sister used them also and had the same awful experience.

So like many people I was impacted by the hailstorm back in 2016. My home had significant damage from it. I choose to go with A-Tex R&R along with a friend because a neighbor of ours was happy with the work performed. I had read too many horror stories about companies coming into down and then disappearing after the work was completed. We wanted someone local to do the work. That's where I met with Chip who was their sales rep. He seemed like a nice guy and was knowledgable. I went into the backlog like so many other people because of the number of homes damaged. I was willing to wait knowing that my home was going to be taken care of. It was my first house after all. Everyone I dealt with was nice and professional from the company. I eventually got my roof replaced many months later. That's when the problems started.

Delivery: The company they used to deliver the materials damaged my bushes and tree. They even put a good sized hole in the ground too. They used a conveyor belt like device to drop the materials onto the roof. The conveyor cut into the tree limbs and one of the packages fell onto a bush crushing about a 1/3 of it when some material slid off the roof. Eventually A-Tex came out and filled the hole after pointing it out multiple times.

Roof: It took the roofers over a day to finish the work. That was expected. They attempted to clean up the area but I was still finding nails and other material around the house over a year later. They generally 'clean' the yard but avoid the bushes around a house it seems. While installing the roof my HDTV antenna disappeared. I asked about it and got no where. They were instructed to remote the old wood flashing around the roof as it was rotten in many places and made obsolete by the new codes requiring mental drip lines instead. After the roof was installed they had put the new metal drip line over the rotted wood. After several conversations I gave them two options; either repair and replace the rotten wood (cheaper/easier for them) or rip it down and redo it (much more expensive on them). They choose the first option. During the install had an issue with the HVAC vent. It wasn't properly secured. They came out and fixed it. I think it took two trips. Then I was having leaks after they fixed it. They came out again and patched it. I would be embarrassed by the workmanship here. I'm not sure which trip it was but the guy had dropped a ream of nails in the yard and never picked them up. Very unprofessional and dangerous.

Gutters: After waiting patiently for months for them to continue the work I finally got frustrated at the lack of progress. After multiple attempts of calling them eventually a scheduled date was set and the work was done by another contractor. This appears to be a common practice as they don't have the internal expertise to do the work.

Other: Lots of other work was never performed which was listed on the insurance form and that they agreed to do.

So I had to leave out a lot of details. Where does that leave things now? They have tried to bill me multiple times over the years for services not rendered. I have pointed repeatedly to many people over at A-Tex R&R that the work was never completed and that it's their responsibility as my general contractor to manage that. And my neighbor who also signed up with them? He also had the same problems and fired them.

So what should your take away form this? Everyone I've dealt with and talked to at the company has been nice. From Chip to Nick... I like working with nice people. However I like it more when the people are competent and get the job done right the first time.

CONSUMER BEWARE! This company has excellent sales and horrible service. We chose ATEX over other roofing companies for two reasons. 1. They appear to have good reviews through google 2. Their salesperson took the time to inspect roof and take pictures of problem areas. It became clear that we made a poor decision to go with ATEX after paying 50% down and then waiting several months for them to even start the work. We even escalated issues to the President of the company, and issues were STILL ignored for months. We had to hire another roofing company to complete our leaking roof that should have been completed by ATEX in the first place. Very troubling! Please save your money and choose any other roofer besides ATEX. I would vote zero stars if possible.

We had our roof replaced, exterior repairs and paint. All work met or exceeded our expectations. Thank you John, roofers and painters.

This company has to be the worst experience I have ever had. 1st issue I had the company come out to fix my roof after the hail storm in April of 2016.

1. Issue the roof was supposed to be like for like except for the upgrades and the results were totally the opposite. I had to pay another company $600.00 to replace the tarp they initially put on poorly and blew off so since ATEX was not available to fix the one I paid them 600 to put on and the results were water damage. When The roof was so called finished they put the 13 year old hail damaged rain diverter back on the roof, did not put the radiant barrier decking back on they just used the cheap decking and the decking has half inch gaps where they just used a saw and cut out the broken decking and replaced it with the cheap material so if anything punctures the roof in those areas I would get major water damage. I paid for new gutters and the two upgrades with the first payment to the roof and the gutters still did not get done. They removed my window screens and never replaced them. Since I saw how this was going I got another company to fix the interior damage, lelands to replace my shed and ended up getting new windows myself. So the company only did the roof so why did these clowns send me a bill in email for $12,000 dollars that included all the work like my fence, shed, interior damage and painting that they did not even do and I had not even heard from the Project manager for 8 months.
Not only that because I work from home the crew spent quite a lot of time laying in my front yard under a tree not doing nothing at all! My suggestion is DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING or your screwed. It's been 18 months and I am still dealing with it smdh! The company also went back on the agreement that they would cover all the damages and reimburse me for it. They also asked me to remove this post and as soon as I removed it they did not honor our agreement. It's been over 2 years and my stuff is still not fixed.

First time using A-Tex roofing. Phil came out and gave me and estimate for maintenance. He took pictures and showed me some of the problems. Later I had him come out to do the maintenance. He fixed two potential leaks, plus other issues that might have caused problems down the road. They are very professional and did a good job. Again very easy to work with! Plus he is a big Cowboys fan which is a major plus.

They got the initial roof job done quickly but still haven't finished my gutters over a year later. They threatened to get their lawyer involved if I didn't pay them for their incomplete job. They finally got the gutters installed, but they are leaking and causing significant water damage. I have been trying to contact them but they keep giving me the run around. It has been two months since they installed the faulty gutters and they claim ""they are working on it."" I feel stupid for paying them before the job was done, now they have no incentive to come back and finish. Don't trust Atex and if you do, definitely don't pay them until the job is complete, even if they try and intimidate you with lawyers!

Had atex out to have estimate done on dad roof, after 3 appointment finally had someone out to check roof. Guy walk around took a few pictures and said roof need replacement, was told I had to have insurance come back out to reinspect the roof. Was told by insurance company that a supplement need to be sent in by Atex roofing. Call atex to let them what insurance said. Was told that the supplement would sent in after countless call and 2 month later no estimate. Their customer service suck. No call back and excuses after excuses waste of time

I found A-Tex roofing on homeadvisors.com.

A roofing specialist came to my home. I explained I need a replacement roof, shed roof, and gutters due to the recent hail storm. He asked if my insurance adjuster came by. I said yes. Then I was asked to provide a copy of the adjuster review. I said I would but wanted an estimate first.

He explained there was no reason to do an estimate if the adjuster had completed the review. He gave me a large folder with A-Tex company information. I really like the information that was in the packet. I told him I did not have the results of the review. He asked me to email the results to him so he could provide me with an estimate. He went over numbers that all related to the adjuster review. He said 3-Tab would be what is quoted. Dimensional is about $2,000 more, and Metal is about double the 3-Tab.

A few days went by and he texted me asking me for the information. I explained to him I wanted an estimate first before I gave him a copy of the reviews and that I did not receive the results yet. I also explained to him that I would not do business with him until I received an estimate first.

In a text he quoted me $8580 for 3 Tab, and additional $1550 Dimensional, and $1756 for the gutters.

I was pretty excited. So far he has had some really great prices and warranty information. I was ready to hire him. Then I asked him to email that information in an estimate.

A few days later I received an email that stated prices based on Insurance Adjuster Review and did not include any of the costs we discussed.

I threw his folder of information away shortly after seeing the email. I don't like companies playing games with me.

I would not recommend them.
