Our roof was in desperate need of an update. A-One provided the best service, great prices, and amazing quality shingles. They were very efficient and I am extremely pleased with the outcome.

They started out great with a really responsive project estimator. But then after we signed a contract everything went to hell. Contradictory information provided. They subbed out parts of the job to people who had no idea what they were doing. They did not have the structural components of the job inspected or even permitted and they did not follow the plans of their own engineering drawings. I had to fight with them every step of the way and babysit the job, taking several days off work. And now my room is leaking in spots that never had a problem before. They have sent multiple teams to ""fix"" problems only to either make things worse or not to resolve problems. Roof leaks where they supposedly fixed it just a month ago. STAY AWAY.

My HOA sent them out to inspect cracks on my ceilings and walls and I did not get a response back for over a month. Just got off the phone with their secretary, she was rude as hell. Kind of tell me their operation.

SLOPPY WORK, DAMAGED the facade of my house and are now trying to place a LIEN ON my HOUSE for the amount I withheld TO FIX THEIR DAMAGE.

NO one in the Bay Area should use this horrible company.

These guys focus on commercial properties. DO NOT USE THEM for your own home or your own personal business or property. I seriously regret it, and my wife complains about the damage they caused every time she has to look at the house. They ruined the facade of house, did sloppy work that is visible from our backyard, and provided the worse customer service I have seen in years. Also, they go totally silent once you start asking them to fix their work properly.

I will post pictures of my damaged house later when I have more time.

Btw, the comment from another user where she stated that they came without a ladder happened at my house too. You know you have chosen the JV roofer company when they come without a way to get on your roof.

Here's another funny story. They canceled the start of my project citing rain, after their crew had taken off half my roof. Can you imagine the competency of a roofing company that cancels a project yet actually starts it??? The quickest way to ruin a house is to get water into it. And that's pretty darn easy when someone takes off your roof.

..I will finish this when I have more time.

My wife and I hired A-One to come out and fix our roof and gutter after a tree feel on our house a few weeks back. We found their estimate to be reasonable and the team to be responsive - moreover, the work that was done was both high quality and timely. We absolutely recommend these guys!

I am very pleased for the repair work done by A-One Construction from start to finish. Couple months ago I had a water leak under the slab of my condo, and our HOA hired the plumbing company to reroute the water pipes inside my house; however, the plumbers cut 7 different places on the wall and ceiling in order to diagnose and fix the leakage. So the HOA sent A-One Construction to get an estimate of the work, the estimator Jaime who is very professional and friendly came to my place and got the measurements of the drywalls that needed to be repaired and repainted, then he provided the quote to our HOA the next day, and our HOA decided to hire them to do the work as they have done a good job for our HOA director's home.
I contacted Jaime to schedule the work as soon as they can, and Jose from their office called me to schedule the work in few days after my follow up with Jaime (well done!). On November 8th & 9th, 2017, Jesus and Santiago came in and spent 2 days to finish the drywall repair work and repaint the affected area, and they did such a good job that the drywalls look like brand new and never could tell were cut before. And the other big plus is I did not have to take any time off from work, just let them in around 8 am, then I went to work, and they locked my door after they were done and notified me they were leaving my house. Thank you so much Jesus and Santiago, you guys are so friendly and professional, and I am very happy that my place is fixed before the holidays!

I work for an HOA management company and had an emergency pop up. On a Friday afternoon, and frankly, I was freaking out. I contacted Jose and gave him the specs, within an hour I had confirmation that a team was being dispatched and the work will be completed before the end of the day.

I have been thoroughly impressed with the experience that I have been provided by A-One Construction and Roofing and they come with a very high recommendation from me.

I highly recommend A-One Construction and Roofing. As the President of the Homeowners Association (HOA) I have worked very closely with A-One Construction during the repair of construction defects on the 100 units in our 7 buildings. A-One Construction has completed repairs on four of our seven buildings. They have completed replacing windows and fixing the interior trim in all 7 buildings. Other repairs are in progress on the last 3 buildings.

The workers have been polite and respectful to our homeowners, their privacy and possessions. The work was done efficiently and quickly. Problems are being taken care of in a timely manner and bids for uncovered water damage from windows in three tiled showers were reasonable. I have been very pleased with their work and work ethic and have no problem highly recommending them.

I live in a 38 units condo building in Adams Pt neighborhood of Oakland. My unit is on the top floor and had suffered a leak via the roof. Another roofing company was unable to pin-point/stop the leak, even after multiple visits and 'water tests.'

Our HOA finally got A-One to come out and they pretty much found the cause after 1 or 2 visits. They gave us a proposal for work (not cheap but not too expensive) and the HOA approved it. A-One started work right away to seal the leak area on the roof. Thereafter, they were patient with my desire to wait until a few more storms had passed before finally having them close up the holes that had been cut out of my dining room ceiling (due to the leaks). I finally had them come out to do the work in my unit about 2 weeks ago.

The two men crew that did work in my unit spoke English, were professional, friendly and courteous. They were careful in covering the exterior hallway, our interior living space and walls so that dust and paint wouldn't splatter. Before they closed up the hole, they showed me where they didn't see any mold, and that they had stuff in new insulation before closing up our ceiling.

Now, the small hole in the closet, and the two large holes in the dining room have been closed up and the areas looks great. It's also convenient for us that they did this in one day.

Finally, A-One's office staff (repair coordinator etc.) were responsive and communicative. I'm glad our HOA went with A-One construction.

A-One performed excellent work on all our HOA common areas and some residences. In our vetting process, we spent weeks reviewing many contractors and large service providers, and A-One was one of the few that met all of our decision criteria. This firm worked with our HOA, with the understanding of our operating limitations and decision-making process. They've been very up front and transparent with us. We're very happy with their professionalism, knowledge, and workmanship.

A-One appears to be segmented operationally into at least 5 working groups -- inspections, maintenance, major construction, painting, and roofing. We've done business with all groups thus far. Our HOA board of directors consists of an engineer, business consultant, a detail-oriented forensics specialist, a legal specialist, and other licensed professionals. We've been very involved in reviewing A-Ones plans, schedules, and engineering details for our projects and we've been very satisfied with all the deliverables to date. During the final punch list reviews and site walks, any minor detail that we wanted addressed was always promptly handled.

A-One's inspection group performs professional inspection for code compliance and analysis of failure modes --acting as expert witnesses as deemed necessary for other local firms. This was a key plus in our decision to adopt A-One as our strategic vendor. This knowledge base trickles down to their other groups; I've been on site observing when the city inspectors and engineers arrive to analyze the WIP at the inspection milestones for projects involving structural repairs and structural modifications. A-One's attention to detail and conservative approach to code compliance resulted in relatively short approval cycles and few delays due to workmanship or code issues. On all projects, a site foreman or project manager was always available on site or via phone to answer questions and provide documentation when requested.

When A-One performed major repairs on our Mansard roofs, landings, and balconies, their working relationship with their sister division --a major sheet metal fabricator, was a major bonus. I observed custom sheet metal flashing and saddles being brought on site. Our legacy sheet metal appeared to be modified from off-the-shelf components by the prior contractor, which had short-comings that exacerbated the damage to the underlying structure. A-One brought fabricators from their sister shop on the work site to perform finishing touches and virtually eliminated the material and workmanship shortcomings of the prior contractor. They certainly did NOT skimp on materials nor workmanship. They also made minor enhancements, with our permission, that would extend the life of the repairs. Again, this is where their understanding of failure modes and their operational relationship with sheet metal fabricators became an asset. Having worked with many other contractors, I feel that most would not bother to ""go the extra mile"" for their clients in such a manner.

In addition to our Mansard roofs, A-One also replaced a majority of our flat roofs. The project was performed at the beginning of the winter season and one job spanned a series of very heavy downpours and high winds. On that project, water seeped into one unit through the tarping due to unusually high winds and other factors beyond their control. Regardless, A-One promptly dispatched a drywall crew to effect repairs of the impacted unit's ceiling. All crews wore disposable shoe covers while in residences and/or taped down heavy paper to floor surfaces to create efficient material and worker paths during phases where heavy traffic was expected. Additionally, to ensure that no water stains were missed that could become more visible with aging, they painted the entire room. This ""old school"" approach demonstrates a level of care and attention to detail that is sorely lacking in most today.

Maintenance / construction involves both science and an art components. The finishing details are just as important as other phases of construction/maintenance work. On projects involving exterior wall work and interior surfaces, A-One match both the texture and colors of the surrounding surfaces perfectly.
