After getting bids from three roofers I chose A. Mendoza based on my initial conversation with owner Adrian Mendoza, his willingness to agree to a number of special requests including prevention of debris from raining down on the interior of my 2-car garage and all of the junk stored there, retaining my perfectly fine gutters and gutter screens, and advice about downspouts, and the very professional way he measured the roof. After that I spoke a couple of times with Adrian's son-in-law Armando Martinez who confirmed Adrian's agreement to my special requests, gave me a reasonable estimate, adjusted his original work dates so as to avoid overlapping with my grandchildren's visit, and supervised the actual job which was done as agreed and on time despite coinciding with the worst heat wave in my 50-year residency in Hayward! Finally, all of the verbal agreements I discussed with Adrian and Armando were remembered and honored.

Mendoza Roofing just did a great looking job on my house. Armando was able to schedule me in quite quickly and they got the job done on time and on budget. Armando was very nice and accommodating. There was one new piece of flashing that rested on the side of the house and he asked me whether I wanted it be the color of the roof or the house and I choose the house. When I gave him my old house paint it was dried up so he went and the paint store and bought a new can of paint for me at no charge.
I thought one of the new vent pipes looked a little crooked and he sent one of his men over the next day to straighten it out, secure it in place and repainted to my satisfaction.
FYI
Some of the old reviews mentioned how Mendoza roofing was a no show for an appointment. Armando explained to me that was when his uncle ran the business. I found Armando to be on top of everything and am sure if he says he will be there, he will

I'm retired living on a fixed income, so I sweat bullets when I have to find a contractor. I do my research, check reviews, but i find the best way to find a good contractor is to watch my neighborhood for the same work I want done. That's how I found A. Mendoza roofing.They were doing my neighbors roof and it looked great. My neighbor was happy and recommended them. I asked for a business card and called a few months later when I was ready for an estimate. they were there the next day to measure the roof and my estimate was there the day after that.I decided to wait until spring, then covid 19 hit and I put it off for a few more months through fall but needed to get it done before winter.finally called Adrian for the job, he remembered me, came back and gave me a lower estimate as a break because of covid 19. We agreed on price, got the written contract, and started about to weeks later.I live in a modest three bedroom home in San Lorenzo ,I know what it cost to put a roof on.I have had several estimates over four years from $7000 to $29000 for the same roof.I do not want ""roofing systems"" with diamond plated vents and solid gold tar paper. I do not want a salesman's bullshit! What I do want is a great looking roof, that does not leak, for a fair price.That's exactly what I got from A. Mendoza roofing. The whole crew was on time, professional, courteous and friendly.They addressed my few concerns an left the property clean without ever entering the house.It's now winter, had a couple of rain storms and no problems. I highly recommend these guys if you want to simplify the process. Great job guys. Thanks!

Hard working crew. Very detailed. Reasonably priced. Installed new roof and added Twirlley bird fans and eyebrow vents to reduce trapped heat in attic. Worked with solar contractor to put footings underneath shingles.

Onofre was excellent from start to finish. He made sure shingles matched original, used highest quality felt and fans. He came on a rainy Saturday to finish the job and cleaned up the lot. Highly recommend!

As a retired senior I appreciate getting a great job at a good price. I had experience working with general contractors and subs during my working career and we had a general lead the job for us. Mendoza roofing did a fine job for us. The new roof and gutters added a new look to our home at a price much lower than the highest bid we received.They also did nice detail work fabricating custom down spouts, installing vents and installing gutter guards. I would use them again and would recommend them to others.

Adrian and his crew were great - professional, fast, and super easy to work with. Adrian came when scheduled. gave me my roofing options, ascertained that I could successfully go with the less expensive one, then got the job done over 2 days. He repainted my flashing the color I provided (which required some extra work) and was responsive and helpful throughout. It hasn't rained since he redid my flat roof 2 weeks ago but I'll update this review when it does ;-). I highly recommend him and his company.
