PROJECT ABANDONMENT - DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.... ALRC was recommended by co-workers. Sarah Harris is close friends of the wife a former colleague. She was very responsive and professional when I hired ALRC to replace my roof. After the demolition, they installed the new roof and underlayment, at which point I had paid 90% of the contract. I was happy with them until that point. Then they went AWOL. For three months, I have been unable to reach the company by phone, text message, email, social media, and certified USPS letter. I finally filed a complaint with the licensing bureau for the State of Florida. After 90 days, under Florida law, a contractor has abandoned the job if no work has been done and no explanation is provided to the consumer. AVOID THIS COMPANY! Absolutely horrible.

install a new roof on my entire property in 2015. I was noticing ceiling cracks throughout certain parts of my house. So I had my handyman come and check it out, mainly considering I am having family over within the next two weeks. Upon that he noticed a ceiling leak in my Florida room. He exposed the area due to a strong smell that was noticeable and he stated mole can occur and it needed to be aired out. I contacted the roofing company immediately. Sarah Harris (president) answers the phone. Considering I only dealt with Randy Harris (Fields operations manager) which is no where to be contacted verbally through cell phone or upon request and Julio Zarco (Project Foreman). She then states she can have someone come over (after a returned phone call) and considering I stated that the smell was strong and my throat was starting to itch and most importantly I have water dripping onto my tiles. When Julio and another man arrived, i was asked for $250 for the road trip fee in which I was staggered by because I am covered under warranty. Without making a fuss, because I appreciated the urgency, I sent over the money through Zelle, as requested so the gentleman can access the issue even though I Was just told it's for a road trip fee. They went on the roof and immediately blamed my gutter installation (which personally has no relation to a leak in the roof). I allowed the two to do what they need and noticed on camera and windows, that all they did was take a bucket out the vehicle and I heard a couple of stomps and minutes later my door bell rings and Julio gives me the thumbs up and says everything is good. I even tipped him and his partner. With the good grace of god, immediately it begins to rain and I notice that there is a puddle of water sitting under the expose area in my house. I contact them back and it has been a song and dance briefly through email and no contact through phone since. They even had their son answer the phone stating mom and dad was together and not available and gave me another number which was of no use. The integrity and ethical performance of this company is extremely disappointing. And I am currently taking all researched and guided measures to respond to my unsatisfied customer experience, which expresses the poor response to a customer who is still under warranty and in an emergency situation because this can potential be a hazard to me and my family health.
Angie B.I have to give them a 5 star review! The company presented me with an descent affordable quote to repair broken tiles on my roof! I did have to be persistent and call back several times to ensure that she didn't forget about me! That is not a complaint it is just a fact that this is a busy time of year and with COVID everyone can be spread a bit thin with manpower! I am glad that I was patient and persistent. They came and did the repairs job was complete in a few hours!
Jeff A.Still no response wrote the Better Business Bureau about how they took my property my gutters off my residence didn't return them won't call me back won't reimburse me all the reviews that are good on the Internet have to be fake
LeeAnn D.We put on our new roof about a year ago and upon arrival and meeting with the owners, we were duped by their overly friendly first impression. We trusted this company w our hard earned money and that was a HUGE MISTAKE!!! Once the papers were signed, we could never get ahold of them! We had no clue what was going on, when the roof would be replaced, and they even changed my tile choice without notifying my. When I left an angry message, they finally called back and said ""my original choice was not approved by the city"". LIES! I have since seen homes w the exact roof I wanted. If that wasn't bad enough, the gutters were hung HORRIBLY and nobody would return a call or come out to fix it. On the corners, the gutter it literally not attached and is leaving a huge gap. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!! You work hard for your money, put it with an honest company that cares.
I Called for A Licensed roofing after watching a roof go up in my neighborhood of Wilton Manors . There was a sign with the company name and phone number so I called my roof was leaking from the underside into the walls and the wood had rotted and I needed a repair. I phoned and Spoke with Sarah. I explained what my take on the roof was and that I saw the company sign in my neighbors yard. Sarah spoke about how great the company was and that she would handle my repair. She told me she would call me back with a time to be placed on their schedule. After 2 days of waiting no call back from Sarah, I phoned and told her I didn't lije not knowing when or if she would call back to schedule my roof repair. After 2 days, Sarah quickly said her guy would be out today. Finally, A Licensed roofer shows up. Crawls into the crawl space and up on my roof. He informed me his boss Randy or Sarah would call me with the estimate and to schedule the repair. After waiting several days, I never heard back from A Licensed Roofing. I would not recommend this company at all. They caused me more headaches, the days waiting, I should have been searching for a professional follow through company. A-Licensed Roofing has horrible business practices. Wilton Manors Neighbors Stay Away!
Replacing/fixing the roof of your home is stressful. We called so many companies and received many proposals. I am SO GLAD we went with A Licensed Roofing. Sarah and Randy are the owners of the company and THEY are the ones you will work with. They genuinely care about their clients. They gave my husband and I their cell phone numbers just in case we had any questions at all. (And we spoke with them everyday while the work was being done.) My roof was in very bad shape. They gave us a very reasonable estimate AND told me about the potential things that may possibly add to that price. The point man on site was Julio. He is very knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions regarding the specifics of my roof. The workers did a phenomenal job cleaning up every single day. If you go with ALR (and I reccomend you do) you won't regret it. The workers accidentally tore a hole in my screen enclosure and A Licensed Roofing hired a screen company to come and fix that for us free of charge as soon as the roof was done.
Cary B.This company has done work in our neighborhood so we contacted them. We have now contacted them a total of 8 times, and still have not gotten the quote they came out to do. I am 8 months pregnant and practically begged on a voicemail at the office for them to send us the quote so we can make a decision (want two comparable quotes before getting work done; not the entire roof just a portion) and get this taken care of, after my husband has spoken to and/or called them 6-7 times already after they did the quote. If it wasn't enough money for them that they didn't want to do the job, we would have at least appreciated a call back or notification of some sort. Don't expect any type of customer service if you use them.
BUYER BEWARE!!!! Wanting to support women owned propritiors , I gave a second chance to a no show/ no call business. On my (unbelievable) second scheduled estimate, another no show/ no call. Stayed home from work. Follow up from me call yielded a six o'clock arrival. One worker, not on roof ,was walking around my back area and it felt like a casing. Estimate from owner Sarah was 1700 bucks because "" you have a big problem and it will be an all day job requiring 3 workers"". She was able to readily call regarding the price and push for commitment unlike the scheduling debacle. My contractor neighbor had it fixed with one man in 3 hours of direct labor. The cost was 1000. Dollars less than Sarah's estimate. I feel violated, lied to and victimized by a woman I was trying to support. Don,t be fooled by gimmick of minority ownership, and protect your self from sophisticated scammers such as this. BUYER BEWARE!!!!
Really wish I could give zero stars. I scheduled an estimate appointment a week early, they gave me the 23rd from 12-4. I purposely stayed home at that time to make sure I was here when they were coming. By 4pm I never heard from them so I called, they said they are running a little behind but will be on their way shortly. Needless to say they never showed up that day, nor did I receive a call letting me know that. I called the next day to reschedule, they told me the next availability they had was the 26th, so I took it.....Well, they never showed up again on the 26th nor did I receive a phone call. This company is ridiculous and completely unprofessional.
