A Larsson & Sons Roofing
Company Overview
A. Larsson & Sons is dedicated to providing comprehensive roofing services and repairs for both commercial and residential buildings. We specialize in repairing and replacing clay and concrete tile roofs, asphalt shingles, flat roofs, built-up roofs, and wood shingle roofs. We also provide installation and repair services for siding, soffit, and fascia, along with chimney repairs and rebuilds. We conduct roof inspections and offer a range of roofing services.
Since my father founded this roofing and construction business in 1964, we have remained a family-owned and operated company. After my time in the Army, I started working with him. Eventually, he retired, and my sons became part of the business. In the late 1980s, we explored opportunities in the city. I worked alongside my son Brian at Morse Diesel in New York. I held the position of Project Engineer, and he was a Union Carpenter. We contributed to projects like the Philip Morris Building and the Staten Island Mall. After a couple of years, we chose to move to Florida with our children and carry on our family business. About 14 years ago, my granddaughter Amy joined our team as a partner and holds state licenses in roofing and general construction. We are grateful to our customers for the opportunity to collaborate, and we hope to keep serving for many generations ahead.

Never resolved the 2 large leaks in my roof. Extremely rude and unwilling to resolve the issues.

I would give a negative if it was an option. We originally called thinking our roof had a leak, we called spoke to Amy and scheduled an appointment- before the appointment we were in the attic and noticed light coming in from the chimney - we took a few pictures and shot them over to Amy to review/discuss and decided to cancel the roof appointment and schedule a chimney appointment with her uncle (he handles chimneys for the company). the day of the appointment with the uncle my husband called to confirm the time and make sure they were still coming and was told they were busy and wanted to reschedule (please note they never called us we had to call them) - we did not accept that and insisted they keep the appointment -the Uncle came a half hour late, checked the chimney took notes and told us Amy would send us a proposal/price - at this point it gets worse. we never received a proposal or quote - we had to keep calling and texting - finally excuse after excuse we were told a proposal would be sent (nope never came) - more calls and texts we get a quote over the phone - good price we say OK, lets get a contract and schedule a date - we were told we would receive a contract via email and to meet Amy at Starbucks - the contract NEVER came - we tried calling and texting to verify the correct email address - no reply - she completely stopped answering our calls and texts - we were suppose to meet her this morning at Starbucks needless to say we did not go - but please note I am assuming she did not go either because we received no call from her about being a no show - Bottom line unless you have time to waste don't bother with this company they are completely UNPROFESSIONAL -

Four years ago my roof developed a leak. I had Larsson and Sons repair it at a cost of $275.00. I was satisfied with the work that was done. So when my roof developed a leak from the last storm I called Larsson and Sons again. Two men came and repaired the leak. Very little material involved and one and a half hours in time. This time the bill was $900.00 breaking down to $300.00 per hour per man. More than I pay my attorney. I made the mistake of not getting a quote before hand. I would suggest a cautious approach. A. Larsson and Sons installed my asphalt shingle roof in 2012. To begin with, they improperly installed the dryer vent. It was quite visibly misaligned with the decking so they didn't even try to connect it. Instead, they let the humidity and flammable lint vent directly into the attic space! Under the permit, they failed an inspection on the flashing and another on the final inspection before getting a pass. Four years later and there's a ""surprise"" leak at the flashing. They either ignore my calls or promise to call me back. They don't even have a physical address so I guess I'm out of luck.

A. Larsson and Sons Roofing has repaired three (3) leaks and they have not leaked again. I will definitely use them for our new roof when we get ready. I would recommend them highly.

We paid Larsson and Sons $10,900 on a $14,300 job. ($8700 up front before they even began work). We also received a Notice to Owner which being new to Florida we did not know what this was and when we questioned it we were told it was a ""formality"". The roof was completed in June but a skylight that had been added would not be finished on the interior until October. So, I told Mr. Larsson I would pay him the balance when the job was completed in full. I subsequently received a lien letter from the supplier because Larsson NEVER PAID THEM the $6900 for supplies for our roof. (A lien which give the supplier to ability to FORECLOSE on our home..) If we had not given these lousy people enough to cover the supplies I could MAYBE understand this but we gave them more by almost double. The Construction Lien Law in Florida that makes this allowable is a ridiculous piece of legislation. I understand it was also our fault for trusting and paying a large chunk up front without getting a release of lien. However, Larsson took full advantage of the fact that we did not know about the Construction Lien Law in Florida. The ethics - or lack thereof - of A. Larsson and Sons Roofing plays a large part in this scenario. I would not recommend them to re-roof a dog house. Not only have we contacted Action 9 but we have also filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
