Jeff Wunderlich and A-1 were recommended to me by a property management company I used to work for. I was very happy to meet Jeff - he's honest and friendly and has a lot of experience in this business. He assessed my roof with care, and did not use a hard sell. He was always responsive. The crew were professional and fast, and my new roof looks a million times better than my old roof. I got several bids before theirs, and theirs was reasonably priced as well.

I called A-1 in June 2019 to get an estimate for my reroof based on a referral from a family member. I called and was told Jeff would call me back, Jeff spoke with me and said he would call after the July 4th holiday. The week of July 8th I still hadn't received a call and I proceeded to contact corporate to try and get an estimate. I finally got Jeff to call me back and scheduled a time and date. I took the day off from work to be available for Jeff. One day before the estimate I got a call from Jeff telling me he had to postpone the estimate another five days due to a larger contract. I got the feeling I wasn't important enough for A-1 All American roofing, and now will taking my business elsewhere.

I was really happy with Jeff Wunderlich. I wanted some minor changes made to the contract, and he was willing to make them. He was the only person who told me about the DWP rebate. He explained things thoroughly, and was patient with my questions. His crew was wonderful and were responsive to my concerns, and/or questions. I was really happy with the job they did.

A-1 All American Roofing company completed a reroof on my 1941 home in Los Angeles using Malarkey architectural shingles . We did the reroof through Solar City as part of our solar install. I was actually very hesitant at first because I couldn't find a lot of information on them and working through a big company like Solar City made me think that quality would not be on their mind. That couldn't be further from the truth. I researched everything I could about roofs and spent weeks learning the basics on material and installation. When I contacted Jeff W. at A-1 he was responsive, helpful and patient. If I were him I would got tired of me pretty quickly with all my questions. Two very impressive things was that once I settled on Malarkey, he got me in touch with their representative who provided additional guidance and Jeff was more than happy to accommodate some custom requests. Jeff also recommended upgrading and moving some attic vents around (at no added cost mind you) which resulted in Solar City being able to better optimize their installation resulting in a very significant efficiency increase. The second thing Jeff W. and owner Jeff F. did was negotiate the fine print of the contract. After reading the contract, I had as many questions as I did about the install itself. Jeff W. walked me through each line and we made mutually agreed upon changes to ensure things such as the warranty coverage and even the numbers of nails per shingle. Jeff F. agreed. Another reviewer did mention an issue regarding yearly maintenance but again, Jeff walked me through that and we adjusted the contract so it was crystal clear for both parties.
Obviously I can't speak of longevity as of yet and in Los Angeles the chances of issues are probably less than other places. What I can say is that the price was right, the installers were very professional and courteous, and the Jeffs provided great sales/estimation support and customer service. As will all things of significant cost, you should do your due diligence and homework and I'm sure you'll have a similar experience. I would recommend A-1 All American Roofing.

A new roof was installed in 2011. The installation went fine, but it started leaking today. I called them and they told me I didn't do annual maintenance with them, so my warranty is void. They are 6-8 weeks out in scheduling repairs. The original contract specifies routine inspection and maintenance is the responsibility of the owner. Okay, I get that, but it would have been helpful for them to say what maintenance is and how often to do it and to specify we had to do it with them!

A-1 All American Roofing Co in Paramount is the only roofing company you will need. Jeff F, owner evaluates your current roof, sends photos and details of your current roofing situation. Many roofers/contractors do not even go on the roof to check it out - they just say you need a new roof. His attention to detail is impeccable. Jeff is right there working with you to solve any roofing problems you may have or assists with helping you choose the right roof for your house. I had three roofs removed, had to have some plywood replaced due to years of leakage and had a new roof installed in 3 days. The clean-up was great. He also sends ""after"" photos of your roof so you can actually compare with the before photos since most people don't climb on their roof to check it out.
Jeff, his company and crew of workers is the only company you will need to work on your roof - you cannot go wrong and will be happy you made the right choice.
