5th Generation is awful! I live in condo and we have to use licensed contractor even for small repairs. We used 5th Generation to fix a door. They charged us contractor prices but sent a handyman. Handyman came twice and door broke again next day each time. When I called Kenneth he was petulant and rude. He reminded me ""it's the holidays."" I reminded him it wasn't the holidays when we first started calling about the repair. Kenneth came out and did a marginally decent job fixing the door, but left a mess and holes in the door from previous botched fixes. Not what you'd expect from a professional contractor. And now that his bill is paid he won't return my texts. Of course I'm willing to remove/edit this review if he's willing to come back and finish the job...

I live in a condo so our choices are limited to licensed contractors even for small repairs. 5th Generation was honest to god awful. They sent a handy person to do repairs but charged contractor prices. They came out three times to fix a door. The third time Kenneth showed up. He was rude and dismissive. He finally completed the door fix, but left unsightly holes in the door from the two previous botched fixes. And now that the bill is paid he won't return my texts. It would be a simple, quick fix to come back and patch the holes. It is what a professional, licensed contractor should do. I'm willing to delete/amend this review if they'll come back and finish the repair.

I cannot say enough good things about Kenneth and his team. I found 5th Generation Construction on Yelp and from the very beginning Kenneth was responsive and communicative about our project (which puts him head and shoulders above most other contractors in the area). We ended up doing two fireplaces and some painting work with them. Both projects were pretty non-standard and required a lot of discussion and strategizing in advance. The first fireplace involved a lot of new drywall to create a faux wall and the second was a huge undertaking of custom tile work in an intricate pattern. Kenneth's tile guy, Fernando, is a true craftsman. He worked exceptionally hard to make sure everything looked perfect. In addition to a great outcome in my house, it was just a pleasure to work with Kenneth and his team. As I said, Kenneth is super communicative and you always know the schedule, timeline, and progress of the job. Plus, his team is really friendly and nice. They do a ton of prep to make sure your house stays clean AND send in cleaners afterward to make it look perfect before they leave. All of this comes at an extremely competitive price. I'll be recommending Kenneth and his team of pros to everyone I know in LB. We'll definitely be using them in the future, too.

Kenneth and his team did a great job at a very Fair price. We had a molded shower stall taken out and another prefab one put in in a little shower downstairs. Despite summer hurdles with the concrete under the shower, which they had to repour, and with the walls behind the shower stall walls, he remained true to his original quote. The job finished up clean and in a timely manner and the guys were very nice. We have a lot more work needed to be done at this house and the other house on her property and I believe we will be contacting 5th generation Construction. Thanks guys

I live in a condo in downtown Long Beach and finding a contractor that is willing to take on an extensive master bath remodel and understand and work with the rules of an association can be difficult. Kenny with 5th generation construction was recommended to me. I contacted Kenny to come to my home for a quote. He was able to meet with me right away and was on time!! He took his time to look over the project, answer all my questions and came up with some great recommendations. Right away I had a very good feeling with Kenny. He seemed to have knowledge and a passion for his craft and I felt he would do whatever it took to make sure the job was done right. While I was waiting for a quote from Kenny I did my due diligence and got several quotes and narrowed it down to 5th generation and one other contractor. After doing extensive research into both companies and finding the quotes came within five hundred dollars of each other. I decided to go with Kenny because I knew he would put his heart into the project and do whatever needed to be done to give me an amazing master bathroom! Kenny was a true professional he was very respectful he answered the phone whenever I called and if he wasn't able to pick up he called right back. His crew were very clean, professional and I never had to worry about having someone at the house during the work. As most of us know dealing with contractors can be a nightmare, don't show up, wont call back, leaves a mess everywhere, hard to trust strange workers in your house while your not home, give you a quote only to come back in the middle of a disaster and ask for more money and find yourself in tears wondering what to do?
well I never had any of that with Kenny, in fact this was one of the least stressed major jobs I have done. the one time I had concerns about a tile issue Kenny came right out to my house within ten minutes of our phone call and addressed the concern and that was that. if you haven't figured it out by now I would definitely hire Kenny again, in fact I did have him back out to do a retouch of the custom bathtub enclosure he built for me that I damaged and install a new ring doorbell camera...

We have had Ken at 5th Generation Construction to bid on different projects, even small items. He's always been very professional, gets back to us in a timely way, comes out for the estimate and completes the job. I've asked and received not only written proposals and specs, but simple drawings to ensure we are on the same track. Ken is a straight shooter, a good guy and we will not hesitate to use him again.

I live in a 11 story condominium building built in 1928 in downtown Long Beach. I'm on the board and have been responsible for refurbishing common areas, my background is interior design.
Kenny had been doing work in the building and came highly recommended. I asked Kenny to build some built ins on an abandoned roof top public area. He laid a floor down. Did an excellent job in constructing the built in, perfect pitch and very comfortable. He uses good quality product, follows your design, cleans up after himself every day, and has a very good crew. He is trust worthy and does an excellent job for a fair, good price. It is now a popular space and created a very nice amenity for the building.

After he did such a good job in our common area I had him put a new kitchen in for me and redo my floor to ceiling metal windows. Once again he and his crew stepped up, did a great job, with as little disruption as possible for a good fair price.

I mostly like when he runs into unforeseen situations he doesn't cut corners and does the best job that can be expected.

I highly recommend Kenny and 5th Generation Construction.

Kenneth Yablonsky has done several jobs for me and i was 100% satisfied every time. He designed and built a beautiful deck on the back of my house that is truly a work of art. My family has enjoyed many hours together because of this addition. Also this crew shows up on time and works a full day, something that in my experience is rare. Because of this the jobs were completed on time as promised. I highly recommend this 5 star company.
